make her work for you .....
offer her a discount if she sends you one new client a month,
if she doesn't, she doesn't qualify for a discount.
This should make everyone happy all round:)

Shes already tried that one the first time I went to her ,she offered to do a leaflet drop in her area for me so she ..could get her nails cheaper, but unfortunatly Im not very flexable due to running another biz too and family commits so I turned down the idea as I thought well what do I do when she refers me new clients that I cant fit in ?

OK, this may sound harsh, but why should she be treated any other way than the rest of your clients and you banging your head inventing stuff to accomodate her not willing to pay your price?

Nailzoo's advice is smart - I do that also, and all my clients know that I reward refferals with a little something, but no one is blackmailing me with it!

Yes, women need to have beautifull nails and it's a necessity. But nails are not bread, milk, electricity bills, rent. Back when I was pregnant (and not doing nails), I did not have my nails done, nor I went to expencive hair treatments or anything and world did not colapsed. Because there are priorities. Bills have to be payed, children fed.

Such persons who are trying to push you to give free things, they don't have priorities rather than themselves and their vanity. I had clients who gave me their last penny for nails and then did not have money to pay bills. That's stupid. That is disrespect of themselves, of their lives. And such person will disrespect you, if you let them.

As someone already said, you did not moan to your supplier to get a discounted LP or whatever you need for your work or life.
There are some great advices on this thread. If it works and you manage to reason with her, ok, if not, so what? Don't waste too much energy on her.

I don't think this lady is fussy at all, I think she's a nuisance!
I have no problem in putting right any of my own mistakes, but if I thought my clients were trying it on I'd show them the door. The minute you capitulate is the minute you give them the upper hand, and they become a negative asset.

hi you are doing a profesional job and you have to value your self. If your client cant afford the up keep she should not have her nail done. its ok to be nice but you have to say theses are my prices, if she wants them she will pay. you have to be professional but firm.:)

Hi Geeks, just arrived back from my hols, checked my emails, oh and guess what shes left an an email it was quite pleasant said what a lovley person I was but wasnt happy with her nails , wasnt happy for what she was paying for,on checking my bank account the cheque had bounced from the cheque book she d cancelled , she basically gave me the option to not come back or come back and sort her nails!!!

Well you can guess what option I took , aplogised and said keep ya cheque and it was nice knowing you...well obviously didnt say it like that .She also said two came off in a few days.. I dont normally have probs with clients loosing nails ..in a few days , but heh I spotted her with her fingers in her mouth when I last visited her , so what do you expect women!!
