Advice on shaking

I am newly qualified and I am starting to set up my own business from home . I am so excited to do this as I have always wanted to do this but never had the confidence to go for it . Now age 35years old I have done the course and qualified [emoji4]. But I need some advice on how to stop hand shaking , I am very chatty so I am confident to talk lol even to new clients . But when I go to apply my polish I shake . I rest my pinky so that does help . I advertise a lower price due to being newly qualified. Will this shaking go away I really want to go for this . Because of my shaking my application is not always the best , I know I can do good as my tutor say my polish is lovely when I painted on models Any advice would be great

Of course it will go away , it's adrenaline, yours is mostly down to excitement with a hint of nerves, as you become more confident it will disappear. I used to shake terribly, still do slightly with newbies, I just want to do a really good job.

I used to point it out to clients and say something like 'cor....look at me shaking, I'll be lucky to get this polish on your nails at this rate...' we'd both laugh which released my tension and the shaking would go away immediately.

I tell you what makes me really shaky.........working on another Nail Tech.....now that's pressure!! LOL

Aww thank you , yes Trinity definitely think it is adrenaline as well as nerves , because I do get excited and I am so chatty and clients do say I am lovely and bubbly I just need to calm down lol xx

It's a herbal remedy, comes in a spray or pastelles.... Spray on tongue or suck a pastell just before your client arrives, makes such a difference, many people use it before exams, interviews, driving tests... give it a go x

I used rescue remedy when I took my driving test,worked a treat! My driving instructor keeps it in his glove compartment for most of his pupils Xx

Yesterday I had a new client so I took rescue remedy . Her appointment wasn't until 6 so I took rescue remedy in the morning and just before she came . She turned up with gel polish on which someone else did , so I told her that I don't remove other people's work incase there is damage. So she started picking off her nail vanish in front of me , I said that will ruin your nail . She said no I get it off . So I couldn't watch no more so I did the soak etc . I was not shaking , carried out the prep work very confident not one shake . Started to apply foundation, and then cure, and then first coat my hands could not stop shaking I rested my little finger even I've got a rest for my hand . I applied the 2nd coat cured, top coat and I didn't shake . This shaking is really doing my head in I feel like giving up its getting to the point where I am thinking about my clients appointment all day . It's so annoying as I know I can make a successful business as I have lots of interest . I am so mad a myself [emoji20] . I even took a nice warm bath before she come to help feel relaxed lol [emoji23]I do explain to people and advertised newly qualified that's why at the moment prices are low .

I crashed my car the day of my first paying client as I was so preoccupied, I went up the back of a jaguar! So I do feel for you.!
I find rescue remedy is pretty instant though, for best effect use 5 mins before client then again just before you open the door!

They've helped me combat my massive phobia of flying ... I even managed without the drops this year!

Thank you I will try rescue remedy again , I am so gutted I've always wanted to be a nail technician, I absolutely love gel polish and glitters . At the age of 35 years old I finally got qualified and now my children are grown up I have a lot more time for me . To be honest the client was going on and on about the girl who applied her gel polish and how rubbish it was and there is no way she was experience . I can can talk and talk lol [emoji23]. But she went on and on I felt knackered lol . I really don't want to give up , but I painted a friend nails same thing again when applying first coat my hand wouldn't stop shaking [emoji20] I think I am so desperate to do well and do a good job that I am getting full of nerves .
