i went for a interview for apprentice yesterday they asked me a scenario question.. say if you had a client who was asian and very thick dark course hair and they want bright blonde and you bleach it and it goes orange and customer angry what would you do.. i said well its difficult because if she was asian and had hair like that i would of adviced her from the begining that it would be a long process as her base hair is so dark so to get that desired colour is going to take at least a couple of months so that would avoid that sitiuation.. but if i was to end up in that place i would apoligise to the client etc.. its been playing on my mind as to weather i answered it right so thought id ask other proffesionals for there views please :)

I would personally advise the client that it would not be nice and discuss a few more colour options that would suit her better. caramel/ lightbrown tones..

Also never guarantee you can lift hair as dark as this without doing a strand test, then a toner would be needed to cancel any warmth..

hope this helps only my opinion.. x

Personally?

I think a good answer would have been that you would have guided her towards the high lift browns, as you know that hair would never get to blonde, nor would it look good.
Blondeish hair on Asian skin never looks good, light ash brown highlights look fab though.

yea true but i was just thinking under pressure so that was my answer of the top of my head and i just thought i wouldnt get in that situation as i know how difficult it is to get that much lift with black hair but thankyou for the advice although i cant change it now but glad i was on the right lines.. i was just worried i answered it completly wrong and should of just concentrated on how i would fix it rather than i how i would of avoided that situation x

Leah, prevention is better than cure? Heard it before?

It was a good answer, but again all answers can be expanded and improved on.
Yes adding strand testing and toning etc... Would have been good to add, but they know you are not yet qualified and are learning, so I think your answer was good for ur experience xoxo

I think for an apprentice that is a great answer, considering your still learning.. I would definitely consider you if I was your employer x
