Nah you have to use the 30,22 or 8 with it.

I never really use the 30 as i wouldn't with any other bleach. i normally stick with the 8 and 22. if you havent used it, they might be able to exchange it for you?

What is the advantage of using spectrum over normal bleach?

Went to adels to exchange the 30vol and derby is the only store that doesn't stock affinage! Grrr so I kept it and have to order online from now on :(

Hi there,

Am really interested in trying these and luckily my local wholesalers stocks the range.

Couple of questions for the experts, if that's possible though? Does this lift tint like a normal bleach, or would I still need to strip colour to highlight?

Also, I know wella do a bleach + tone one step called Magma, but I'm not too keen on these as they fade quickly but it's then virtually impossible to get rid of the remaining deposited colour. Can you strip the pigment out once in? Has anyone had to do this?

Sorry for all the questions - if awkward I'll probably give Affinage a shout anyway, as I love the look of their ranges and would appreciate some training - I trained with wella but their ranges are so boring in comparison I really fancy having more choices!

Yes you can use them over tint like bleach they also don't swell which is cool

I haven't found that they fade

Hi, been using this product for years, mainly the violet and green with 30vol as it gives the best tones if you want a very high lift. I use yellow pigment on grey hair as it seems to give the best result. 12 minutes heat maximum is recommended but I sometimes have to leave it longer but keep an eye on it!
I would never put this on the scalp, you would be better with an oil based bleach, Matrix do a good one.
The activator should not be watered down but I sometimes mix 8 & 22 or 22 & 30 to achieve different levels of lift.

Why would you not use it on scalp? :/

Sorry for the delay replying! was trained to use it when it first came out and the Affinage trainer did not train us for on the scalp so I always use Matrix oil based bleach, someone on here also said it didn't swell like bleach but in my experience it does!

Ah right well the old formula couldn't be used on scalp but it can now.

What doesn't swell? Spectrum or vlights?

Somebody mentioned that Spectrum didn't swell, I find that it does! Not bought any for a while though so they could have change things.

Urmm, it does swell but no where near as much as bleach does.

Definitely agree with that!

I've been quite confused with pigment choice recently. I find that the green pigment only gives a yellow result and yester I had a client with base 7, so should use blue, but I tried some violet too and they were much nicer than the blue...can you shed any light on this? Lol
