I've been quite confused with pigment choice recently. I find that the green pigment only gives a yellow result and yester I had a client with base 7, so should use blue, but I tried some violet too and they were much nicer than the blue...can you shed any light on this? Lol

This is the same with graphics! Green does lift out to bright but only of you use 22 and leave for ages!! But if you use a purple shampoo after if it's slightly yellow it should go ;)

Yeh that's what I thought...just been a bit confused by a recent thread on here about underlying pigments so wasn't sure if you could lift from a lower base but still use violet to give the creamy blonde result or whether that wouldn't work...confusing stuff!

I mainly use violet because it gives a nice creamy blond, green was my previous main choice but sometimes I noticed it could look a bit harsh, I only use blue if the client needs maximum lift but it I have noticed on the odd occation that the Spectrum hardly lifts and needs to be re-applied, even though I know the clients hair should lift. Not sure if sometimes there is a bad batch! My sister is a base 7/8 and I always use violet on hers, have you tried mixing the activator to achieve different tones, works quite well!

would you still use violet on say a base 6?

Would go for Blue.

im so confused lol, in the manual it says 1-6 - green 7&8 - blue 9-10 -violet, but when i use that rule i never get the results i want and i makes no sense :(

Have you tried Wella Blondor, gives fantastic results for a bleach, use it at work all the time.

i dont like blondor lol...i use affinage ice creme as my bleach, and i love spectrum...just recently ive got a bit confused with the choice of pigment...might just have to find some guinea pigs lol

You just made me decide to buy ice creme! Nearly out of blondor and was unsure wether to try it, will give it a go. Thanks!

haha, its much nicer on the scalp than blondor but you have to apply it liberally.

i get my hair cut and coloured in a wella salon and i hate having blondor on, stings and itches the whole time, but you can hardly notice ice creme.

blue powder is mint and makes your scalp all cool and tingly lol

white powder is apple and slightly gentler :)

haha, you should be an affinage rep!!!!
