Just need to get this off my chest,
had a mother and child (about 10 years old) come in shop today, child had haircut, all happy, mother and child paid and left, 10 minutes later the father storms in the shop saying he was quoted a different price from what was charged and wanted money back, 1. he wasnt quoted anything and 2. the correct price was charged, he got quite aggresive in the salon saying he wasnt leaving till he got his money back. What happened was his wife took our price list which only states 'from' prices, which start at 0-3 year old prices so i tried to explain this, he was having none of it, got very loud and quite scary, so i phoned police who arrived and sorted it out very nicely. This left all my customers and staff shaken, one lady we had in is 90 and just getting over a stroke.
What right do people think they have to do this, he gave the policeman a cock n bull story about being skint and every penny counts, but his wife is driving round in a brand new merc!!!!
The difference in price was £4.00, was i right to stand up for my principles or should i just of paid him the difference?

No, you were right to stand up to him or he'll try it again and again. I can't stand this sort of customer.

You did everything right including call the police, dont ever let someone bully you as this man was! Well done :)

What a nutter he was! I am so sorry to hear about your terrible experience!
Well done you!!! And good decision with the Police!!

I would crack open in tears and gave him his money- I'm too week to stand up to bullies!

How ridiculous! You were absolutely right to do as you did, including phoning the police, what a horrible piece of work. Hopefully it will make him think twice about doing it in future. Hope you're okay x

Well that was big of him wasn't it? The pratt.:( You did everything right. I would have done exactly the same.

thanks everyone, makes me feel better :)

i felt awful for my poor customers and staff, not what you want when going to have your hair done. Ive only been a salon owner for 18 months so never had to deal with anything like this before, i was shaking when talking to him, however i did have my heels on so was 3 inches taller than him haha! The policemen had a right giggle over it.

Blimey is it a full moon or something??? had a man do a similar thing to me today too.....maybe they are spiking the water with testosterone....
you did the right thing, stick to your guns.
hmmmm £4 eh, thats about a whole mile's worth of fuel for his Merc....every little helps  xx

When people aren't happy why do they have to send someone else in to sort it out!!!!!!

If I was genuinely peeved about something I would say so then and there.

All over £4......Pillock!

:smack:

Just read your thread, what a horrible person, feel sorry for the wife, bet she loves her hairstyle and like you said has now lost a brilliant stylist, i would go mental if my husband said i looked like jo brand!! lol

Where do they get off talking to people like this? We are vulnerable in a hairdressing salon i suppose, being all woman, just goes to prove these men are just bullys with no thought for others feelings at all.I'm now having a nice glass of wine to stop the shakes....what about you? xxx

hmmm I can hear the faint tinkle of the wine bell too....... xx
