Was just wondering how you guys work tour appointment books... how long do you have it open and how far in advance do you let people book. I am a small salon with a busy clientele and find my clients want to book that many on but then o feel it's a nightmare if they want to change one as then they all get messed up. Or if they do decide to give there nails a break they have so many I'm that feels wasted

I allow clients to book ahead by about 3-4 months. I have some big spenders who I want to be booked in. I don't want them phoning to book and I can't fit them in so I'm happy to book ahead. Mind you, there are 3-4 staff so if they do need to change, they may not get their preferred therapist. It's a tough juggling act!!!

It really is cos all my clients are regular and I don't like to give priority to anyone over anyone else. It's so hard work

I have some already booked up to January as they wanted to guarantee their Christmas appointments. I don't actually mind booking ahead too much as it means I can organise my time better. And you get to know which clients are likely to chop and change and which can be flexible when needed. Also I learnt many years ago never to offer appointments right up to Christmas Eve as 90% of the time they cancel last minute o_O

Mine is open so they can book as far as they like and regulars have booked every 3 weeks until next Jan and Feb however I work alone and struggle to get time off so will be changing it.

My clients can book as far ahead as they want, when new year is over several clients give me a list for the whole year. It's easier for them, they get the day and time they like and it suits me. If they need to change, I change it.
