Now I know my works not perfect and I need to better it a lot but... I'm newly qualified no ones amazing straight away! It's all a learning curve! I know some of my work I've not used enough hair or the correct gram bt now I know this. You get better by the flaws you make! Now for the future i would be to frightened to put my work on here! Some people's comments are harsh I'm not the only one to say that. But back when you all started can you clearly say your work was amazing?
I'm sorry I'm not a bitchy person I hate confrontation so this isn't meant to come across like that.

Been fitting extensions for a few weeks now as newly qualified!
Trying to find a reputable company to use as a main supplier!
These are 20" SJK Luxury, pretty happy with them to be honest! But just need to wait and see what the life span is like! Any feedback is welcome :) View attachment 44258

Curls are a pet hate of mine as they hide a multitude of sins. Don't take that personally though, it looks fab.

Fab! How many did you use?

150 strands. Do you use sjk luxury or Krystal? Just wanting some feedback on the lifespan of the hair as I used some hair on another client from hairs and graces and it's awful 3 weeks in! I'm so gutted! I guess it's all trial and error with companies at the beginning! X

I actually totally agree! Haha. It's just this client wanted them curled for a night out and I forgot to take a photo of them before I curled it! Need to remember to take more photos in the future! Thanks bough :)

I don't blame anyone who attends a course, I blame the training providers who are only interested in making an easy buck. With respect, no amount of time or experience is gong to elevate you to the same level as someone who is using a better system, is more skilled and has had better training. A lot of these schools are selling courses, not careers. They hire function rooms, charge each participant circa £400 -£700, book 12-16 participants on each course and then send them away with a certificate after 5 hours training. Do the sums. they're making a killing and damaging the industry in the process. Even the ones holding small classes of 2 or 3 earn over £1k a day, very nice work if you can get it. I don't blame the people who sign up to these courses though, they're trying to better themselves, the only thing they're guilty of is being naive and gullible.

There's a reason Great Length's, Racoon etc only train qualified hairdressers. Ask yourself, why would these massive, pioneering hair extension companies turn business away if they really felt hairdressing wasn't necessary? It's because they want to protect their brand and maintain their reputation, something they can't do if their products are being badly fitted.
For those of you who aren't qualified hairdressers, Connect Hair Extensions London (definitely not to be confused with a different school which has Connect in the title) offer excellent training. Of course, the cost if these courses is higher but with extension training, you really do get what you pay for.

From now on I will give honest feedback whenever I can, if you don't like it or don't feel confident enough to post then I suggest you take it up with your training provider. You might also want to consider what you're going to do about training once regulation is introduced and all these Micky Mouse certificates become useless.

Connect hair (not connect-2-hair) is excellent but it's pricey and only comes in bulk, really easy to tip your own though if you use pre bonded

Oh, and Tashjacks, pricey but fabulous!

Connect hair look brill, will be giving them a ring in the morning for a sample! - thank you. Prices aren't too bad really either! Have been recommended Tasha jacks before, the hair looks so beautiful but don't have any clients as of yet willing to pay the prices! Haha. Thanks for your help.

This is clearly something you feel passionate about - this has been raised on here before.

Not sure how high up Parliaments agenda this is going to be though - maybe not just below getting the country out of recession and whether we are going to take military action in Syria!

And then they will also need to tackle 1 day nails, tanning, eyelashes just don't see the discussion of poor blending, colour matching and tight fitting extensions happening during Prime Ministers questions anytime soon

hair and beauty has been unregulated for so long - rightly or wrongly - why are the Govt going to change this all of a sudden? x

Love looking through this thread seeing everyone's work and what hair you all use - some very inspiring work going on guys 😊
Ok so this set is my VERY FIRST EVER set of pre bonded and micro rings done in my training. I thought I'd put it up as I would like HONEST opinions pleaseImageUploadedBySalonGeek1380609724.312702.jpgImageUploadedBySalonGeek1380609761.993641.jpg good or bad I can take it

Lol! I know what you've wrote sounds absurd but that's EXACTLY what's happening.

The Hairdressing Council was set up in 1964 by an Act of Parliament, which means that hairdressers can apply to become state-registered in the same way as doctors, dentists or nurses. At the moment it is completely voluntary, but now the council is campaigning to get the Act changed to a mandatory one. They held a meeting at the commons in June this year which was sponsored by David Morris MP and attended by 6 other MPs, heads of industry and celeb hairdressers.

I'm not saying regulation will be introduced next week but the lobbying is in full swing, it's just a matter of time. As a consequence, all the hair extensions certificates handed out to non hairdressers will be worthless.

Perhaps you should've put a photo up of the finished product i.e. after cutting. Also, could I suggest standing back a bit more and not having your camera pointing down when taking photo's. It's quite difficult to examine the ends otherwise.

6 MPs and some celeb hairdressers...and as the council has been operational for over 40 years...be astounded if this happens inside the next 5 years, if not 10.

Bear in mind the Connect prices are for 50g bundles and the hair is not genuine Spanish, Italian etc, it is Asian hair processed to resemble caucasian hair. That said it is very good.

Tashajacks on the other hand is genuine European and Russian hair.

Could everyone see some of your work please? It seems you have considerable expertise, so everyone could learn so much I think if you would post some of your no doubt flawless work x
