Business name query !?

I am just about to set up as a mobile technician and want to give myself a business name for my cards etc. After bein on the internet I notice the name I want already exists, its a salon in newbury. Can I still call myself the same name if I am only a sole trader not a registered business.

I'd say it depends on how far away Newbury is from you. If it's miles away & there would be no confusion as to whose business is whose then it shouldn't be a problem, unless they've registered their name.

If it's in close proximity I'd think of a different name.
