Catman

is this the catman?

have to say i do prefer the zombie lad

Well, what a lovely bunch of non judgemental people we have on here.

Particularly in an industry such as ours we should respect the wishes of those who want to alter their appearance. We all know how modification of our appearance can make a person feel better about themselves, and we also know that what is appealing to one person is distinctly unappealing to another. The attitude of "I dont like it and dont think it's normal, therefore it's wrong" is quite frankly narrow minded and shallow.

Has anyone on here even bothered to look into the reasons why these people have had these modifications? Certainly I know in the case of the cat man it is related to his religious belief concerning re-incarnation, does that mean he's wrong in the head and should seek counselling, or does it mean he is deeply passionate and commited to his religious views? Either way, who are we to comment and make insulting comments on a forum that can be viewed by anybody who has internet access?

It was said on a recent thread that on this site, we should act like professionals and not be judgemental, and after reading this thread I find it disappointing that I am amongst a community of hypocrites. We are beauty professionals, we should understand the need for people to modify their appearance to feel better about themselves, and in situations where we find it odd and dont understand the need to make certain modifications we should reserve our judgement unless we really actually know what we are talking about. I find it particularly offensive that someone has even chosen to describe one of these individuals using a four letter expletive of the most derogatory meaning (even though asterisks have been used to censor it).

ohh Chell sometimes i think you need to chill out....people are having a laugh here...and these people are not members of this site come asking for help...so there is a big difference to this and any thread you might want to compare this too.
of course they can do as they like...and we can think what we like.....if i ever met any of these people in person i would be nothing but polite and respect their choices...but that doesn't mean that inside my own mind i would be thinking ....COOKOO...

There's quite a lot of these people and they have conventions etc.
I've read about a lot of them in Bizarre magazine.
Zombie Boy | Tattoos | Extreme | Skull Face | Montreal | Rick

Zombie Boy looks awesome, did you see the link to the 'Body Mod King'? I'd put up a link but it shows pictures of his penis (split in 2, implants in it and tattooed with stars) :Scared: as well as all other stuff on his face etc!

We need a 'puke' smiley on here

ooh i cant find that:eek: , can you send me the link (yes i know i am weird for wanting to look )

But that is exactly my point - if you think Cookoo, think it to yourself. People are having a laugh and there's nothing wrong with that, but having a laugh at someone's appearance because you dont happen to like it or understand it is narrow minded and there's no place for that type of thing on a professional forum where the professionals concern themselves with the appearance of others.

But its obvious to everyone that this look isn't the norm....and anything that isn't the norm will get a reaction...good or bad....lets be honest...isnt that why some people do things like this in the first place...? for the reaction/attention.

Well to be honest...yeah the artwork is amazing but in the most negative way possible....I know we are all individuals and that but there are 'individuals' and then there are 'individuals that really could do with serious counselling!'
I read the interview with zombie boy and he states that he is 'trying to make himself look like a rotting cadavar' and he also stated something about thats how he feels on the inside..........hello! he should defo have seen the shrink instead of the tattooist lol
I mean these people arent just getting tattooed and peirced they are actually mutillating and deforming their own bodies! Personally I think its an absolute disgrace that they are allowed to do that to themselves.

To chelle....I will just re quote what I said earlier!

I'm not judgemental mate...I'm the one who buys the mag!
Fascinating to read every month tbh.

People are 100% allowed their opinions as are you, you are quite happy to air yours so allow others to do the same without making them feel bad for it,

These people who do things to themselves in this way are aware that people will look and comment,
If they wanted to shy away from the world, they wouldn't put themselves in books and on TV...

Put yourself out there and you will get people who love you, and people who don't,

Personally I think they look totally bonkers ! appearance only of course,
It doesn't mean I hate them or wouldn't like their personalities I f I met them.

i never judged either , i stuck up for zombie boy :green:

Im sorry but my view is that something is most definately psychologically wrong Either way, who are we to comment and make insulting comments on a forum that can be viewed by anybody who has internet access? We cannot take responsibility for who MIGHT read this site.....this is the chitchat section....where we can chat about any topic....share opinions, experiences etc etc...we are not offering professional advice to anybody.

It was said on a recent thread that on this site, we should act like professionals and not be judgemental, like i just said...none of us are giving out advice here...and we havent been asked for it...and after reading this thread I find it disappointing that I am amongst a community of hypocrites.thats your problem...I dont consider myself a hypocrite We are beauty professionals, we should understand the need for people to modify their appearance to feel better about themselves, there is a MASSIVE difference between what we do..enhancing and beautifing people.....and mutilating and deforming them....I can only speak for myself but please do not compare what I do to what they do...there is simply no comparison and I would rather eat dog turd than be associated with 'modifying' as yous put it..in this way and in situations where we find it odd and dont understand the need to make certain modifications we should reserve our judgement unless we really actually know what we are talking about. I find it particularly offensive that someone has even chosen to describe one of these individuals using a four letter expletive of the most derogatory meaning (even though asterisks have been used to censor it).

If you have taken offence to this thread because you are a budding catman...or thinking about transforming yourself into something equally ridiculous then Im sorry about that pmsl

Again...please do not associate or compare our industry to whatever industry that is....they couldnt be more opposite....beauty and the beast springs to mind!

and also....what if more people started to do this....and eventually years down the line people like these were seen all the time....being accepted as normal a little bit more through each generation....eventually leading to our own kids doing it (well maybe not literally ours...but u know what i mean) thats a horrifing thought to me....i feel strongly that they shouldnt be allowed to do it actually...it is not normal and it is not acceptable....i dont care if they say they do it for religious purposes....religion has a lot to answer for....so chelle do you think its ok for the female curcumcision thats recently been in the media - that takes place in certain cultures on innocent young girls...very young girls..because that is their religious belief???!!
