I'm hosting a charity event fairly soon involving services for donations.

I'd like to (hopefully) gain some new customers from this as well as raising money. Do you think it would be too pushy to ask the people who book in whether they'd like to rebook for future?

Would it be better to pass them a business card and leaflet or something on their way out so that they have our details?

I'm not really sure on the etiquette what with it being a charity event.
Any help appreciated!

You need to give them a here and now offer.

Good idea.

Would something like this be okay do you think?

- Finish service, see if they are staying for the coffee & cake (going to be offering this in a marque area in the back garden space), advise customer that if they rebook today they can claim 10% off their next appointment, wait for an answer, take payment and give a business card and leaflet?

I'm probably over thinking everything massively lol.

I wouldn't wait to see if they're staying for coffee, finish service, do the rebook and hand over the offer voucher, then thank them and point them in the direction of refreshments. :)

Brill. Thanks a lot =D

Iv been booked for a charity event in December.

A well known company is releasing a new colour nail varnish with proceeds going towards the charity.

I will be painting peoples nails with this colour for a donation. I won't be booking people in on the day, but I will be handing out leaflets & it will be in the local newspapers. I will also be raffling a voucher for a free facial.

Have you thought about inviting a local paper along to take some photos and do little story about it?

Hope it goes well for you 😊

Yes there is a local paper coming to do a story about it before the event to help drum up publicity :)

Will you let me know how it goes please. The 10% off vouchers sound like a really good idea, I might do this too 😊

Absolutely!

Just a suggestion. 10% is neither here nor there, and the public can be a bit thick! I personally think you are better off offering £5 or £10 off a treatment of xx amount or over. They can easily see what they will save, and it may make them spend more!

I have never offered a percentage discount of less than 20% as I don't think it's really worth having!
