Thanks everyone, she is only 31. Don't think she'd go down the route of permanent hair removal because of the pain cos she said the pain of waxing would also put her off aswell. I will speak to her again the next time she comes in and see what she says.
Thanks everyone xx

With the latest machines and in the right hands electrolysis is much less painful than it used to be.
I have little knowledge of laser but have clients that have had it on lips eyebrows, bikini and underarm and it has been very successful making the hair much finer. How it would cope with strong hormonal type hair i do not know but at 31 i would definately advise her to look into seeking a more permanent solution.

Waxing will NOT reduce hormonal hair growth. Clients need medical advice and permanent hair removal. Superfluous hair growth at age 31 is not normal, it's not menopausal, it's hormonal.

Because she is only 31 I would have thought that permanent removal would be the preferred option. As mentioned newer machines are more comfortable now and as long as she goes to a competent therapist she should have no trouble if she follows pre and after care advice. As for it being time consuming and costly - not when it is a permanent solution weighed along side years of waxing! This lady already knows she has a hormonal problem and shaving everyday will make it really tough. To be fair I have seen waxing lighten a few chin hairs but generally speaking it really is not going to touch it. :)
