Hi, I currently have the CND uv lamp and am thinking of getting the LED lamp as an upgrade. Can you ladies recommend it? Also how does this work on toes? Thx

Hey, I have the LED Lamp. It's preprogrammed so you just have to press a button and the lamp lights up automatically. It switches itself off once the time is up so you don't need to set the time. It's safer aswell as its not UV.
Another benefit is that you don't need to change the bulbs like you do with the UV lamp. Also it's quicker, with the UV Lamp you need to cure the colour coat for 2 minutes, whereas the LED Lamp cures the colour for only 1 minute and Top Coat 5 seconds (using the XPRESS 5 top coat).

It's light weight and looks modern. Inside is placements for the client to place her fingers/toes and it's comfortable when using on toes.

It is costly but it speeds up the service time.

I copied this from CND's website for you;

CND® LED LAMP FEATURES:

  • Cures all 5 fingers (or toes) in half the time (as compared to CND® UV Lamp)
  • Uses optic mirrors to target UV exposure to the nail area only
  • Patent-pending design with pre-set timers for each service step
  • Lightweight, ergonomic design with guides for proper hand/foot placement
  • Only lamp designed to completely and evenly cure CND® SHELLAC® brand 14+ day nail color and BRISA® Gel

Hope this helps!

LED lamps still emit Ultra Violet (UV) light. Some marketing folk argue that they're safer because your hands are exposed for shorter periods of time, thirty seconds instead of two minutes, for instance.

Fact is that all gel products require ultra violet light to cure them.

(That's why you have to be careful when using an LED desk lamp near your open bottles and/or working in direct sunlight)

Yup, but would argue you need the same amount of UV, so think they are both as safe as each other (which is safer than walking from your car to the salon on a sunny day!)

The CND Led is good value, especially as you don't have to worry about replacing bulbs. It also works for pedis, but imo the uv lamp is all around better for that.

I got two new LED lamps a couple of weeks ago and love them. I still have one UV light so am using the for pedi's and keeping the LED for manicures.

I was initially reluctant to buy the new one because I'd read a few threads saying people had had problems but I love it and have had no issues at all.
