Coloured acrylic help!

Hi everyone!

I've been doing acrylics a while now but wanted to offer my clients something a bit different!
I have lots of glitters & coloured acrylics I have been using but I just have a few questions if anyone can help!

1. When they come back for an infill, would I use my e file to file the acrylic back down really thin, then redo the nail in another colour? As I tried this before and it was just too thick, I was scared to take too much off incase I went to close to the natural nail x

If doing coloured acrylic, or even with sculptured French, I always start with a thin layer of clear, that way I can take it back down to the clear if the client wants to change.
