I have been away playing with my powders for the last half hour or so...
Because I have been thinking about this set and your other set,

I did one nail with my old nsi mix ...and although it looks ok...It is not as translucent near the zone 3 as I thought....
Then I did another with my ezflow mix, which I have used on myself for the last few months and it is much more translucent towards the cuticle area...with the same effort put in....
I did both nails exactly the same and the ezflow mix looks MUCH better to the "real eye"
although I havent looked on the photo's yet...

What I am noticing about both mixes now I have them on next to each other, is that on the nsi one, I can see how "fake" it looks....I can see speckles of each colour I have put in there...
This brought back memories of how I used to find the odd speckle when performing a set of enhancements, and I would have to fish it out with the end of my brush,

Both nails from the normal distance away from your face when you hold out your hand look good, but close up the ezflow mix is much better....

I have just read Gigi's reply...and tbh I think she is sooo right (as usual lol)
This is one of the reasons I can't wait to attend the event....As soon as I can after this I will be buying the coverage powders....they are already done...no faffing with colours lol

Well here we go .............

I think you have talent. Nice workmanship !

I think whatever product you used or how you used it (mix?) let your work down.

The CB powder looks very heavy and matte and just not got any depth to it which is what is making them look so plastic and unnatural.

Shall I just point out that there are other opaque powders available that do not look like this when applied by someone who has the talent (as you obviously do). Maybe it's time to move up?[/quote]

I'm just waiting for October he he

Seriously, I did originally look at starting out with CND but couldn't afford it after spending all my cash on my initial training. I needed a cheaper alternative just to get me going earning money as I was really strapped for cash. I am generally quite happy with it for most work (the majority of my clients stick to pink & whites) but I always had it in my mind about the custom blending.

I spent the last of my training budget on the Event before all the details were announced so you can imagine my excitement when I found out about all the free products. Happy happy happy

Thanks for the compliment and I'll keep trying.

Thanks for the brand comparison info. Interesting stuff. One of the things I really noticed with the nsi blend was that I couldn't get more than a dull sheen however much I went at it with the glossing buffer. Don't understand that because they all shine up nicely when used individually:confused:

I shall be posting my latest attempt tomorrow when I have enough light to get a decent piccie. I tried your suggestion - double bead of blended plus translucent at zone 2 then translucent only at zone 3. It's miles better but I got a little lost in the recipe mixing a new blend & now I've no idea what went in :irked: Still needs tweaking though.

Your'e welcome hun, I found it interesting myself, as you tend to do your nails, but not often do you study them so close up unless its something new you are trying,
So for me to actually compare them side by side made my mind up today to jib the NSI once and for all...
I have been putting up with it and thought it WAS good,
but tonight trying ezflow reminded me that IMO nsi "will do" but there are much much better out there, and this is even though I am having problems using the ezflow, I still found it much easier to work with
(obviously this is just my opinion relating to how I work)

I know what you mean about the matte look too, But again I only noticed this today having both nails side by side,
I haven't really noticed it before to be honest....

I have done a lovely nail tonight after watching the cnd demo's...I am really pleased with it...
Not perfect lol, but acceptable :D

Did you have a look at them ?
I found too when I viewed them on the cnd site, I could only watch them small....but on you tube I could watch them full screen....
I even missed the soaps coz I was watching these....Now that's dedication for ya lol...
Might just be my pc settings, but handy to know I think.

And you just made me laugh over not having a clue what is in your mix now....I was like that lol,
I used to get pm's on here asking what my mix was and I was like "errrmmmmm I have nooo idea !"lol

Yeah, I watch the cnd videos on youtube too. Sad I know, but I did actually setup the laptop on my nail table once and tried to do smile lines while watching it. Not sure if it helped though. Damn it I KNOW what I'm supposed to do but my hand won't do it :irked:

So, is your mind made up yet - ezflow or cnd? Don't forget to post the piccies of your fab new nail.

Cheers
