Just wondering those who are mobile or work from home, did you notify the council or anyone that you started trading/running a business. I am just going live and trying to work out what I need to do. I couldn’t find the answers I need through a search x

Council to check their H&S requirements - none as nails, if it was piercing it would be different.
Council to check if business rates applicable - no as using spare bedroom so no permanent changes.
Mortgage provider - no issues, just noted on records
House insurance - extra cover needed for theft risk, etc.

Thanks Trinity

Do you mind me asking who your mortgage provider is? Mine are being funny about me working from home. I’m due to remortgage soon so I’ll need to find someone that’s ok with this. I didn’t want to be mobile x

My council require a licence for nails, so it does depend on where you live.

It does, some London Boroughs are requiring a NVQ qualification too

Remember to register as self-employed with HMRC as well.
