Would it be cheaper for one of us to buy them and post them to you?

in my opinion, you cannot have the customer care with ebay that you'd have with your distributor...

but again, what do I know... lol.

While I fully understand what everyone is saying about supporting our distributors...................why should we pay more ??????

I understand about the fleabay rip offs, and I wouldnt touch them with a barge pole, but in the case thats already been mentioned on the thread, same product, same quality, cheaper price........why should we pay more??

Feel free to shoot me down I have thick skin!!! Just thought I would put another angle to this thread.....................

One of my suppliers said sometimes the item is cheaper on ebay because it has been stolen :eek::eek:

i bought them from ebay as they were cheaper.i would never buy monomer etc ... as i have no idea what it is or where it has come from.im sure there are alot of other geeks that have bought of ebay for one reason or another.the only difference is,is that i have admitted that i have.
i totally agree with supporting the distributor so i would never by monomer, powder etc...
i didnt mean to offend anyone i was just sharing my experience as we were on a very similar subject.xxx

Yes, but if it is a professional company selling both on their own site and via eBay then where is their customer service for us professionals?! I'm horrified that they would do this.

And Carl, if that is the cheaper way for you to do it, then I don't blame you. THEY are at fault here IMO, not you.

But how much are you really saving...??? pence..a couple pound...?? what about customer service...loyalty...peace of mind....I don't mind one bit paying a few pence or a few quid extra to get that.

Its not a money thing as far as I am concerned its about doing things the right way...and I wouldn't feel professional at all knowing I got my stock from ebay.

Like Becki said it will always happen....but not so if they didn't get custom from it....it happens cos people buy from them.

The distributors are running a business...just like we are, yet we all moan and winge about NSS and cheep salons effecting our business and don't give a second thought to the distributors who's business is effected by Ebay.....different when we expect to see them at shows isnt it....!!

stolen, out of date, old products that doesn't hae the same norm than the label stuck on it...

still, imo, you did it right asking them what was going on... they're wrong doing so...

Tbh, suppliers are likely to put people off buying the cheaper option. I don't think we can assume theft about anybody though.

damn right they are !!

Well it seems if I want to change direction and use their products I don't need any proof of training or certificates but there's a feature about them in Scratch last month and it mentions their education. Must be a voluntary thing then?

these are not stolen, it's the same company selling them...... the deal is done, I have bought them

It's still an interesting subject nonetheless and will make my diary a little more interesting:)

I completely agree a distributer should NOT be selling on eBay. But then we also should not be buying on eBay, regardless of whether it is monomor or tips. I personally hate that PROFESSIONAL products are allowed to be on ebay.

Capital are now selling the Edge forms as well, for the same price that Carl can get them for. Just my 2 p's worth.

what about customer service...loyalty...peace of mind....I don't mind one bit paying a few pence or a few quid extra to get that.

But if it is professional distributors themselves who are selling on eBay then where is their loyalty to us?

Again, in this case it is the distributor themselves who are using eBay.

thankyou tonilee.
if the monet wasnt alot of difference then i am withyou angie i would rather buy form the distributor but it was half the price and i was buying these to try as i use nsi and i had heard so much about them.
i dont really understand how it can be cheaper than buying from over here though.
the lady has a shop and sells loads of creative things but most of the time its people making money from it which i definately dont agree with.xx

It is disturbing that a 'profesional' company sells via Ebay. I would say they are letting themselves down but as it sounds like I can just buy what ever I want no training or certificates required whats to let down?

I also agree a distributor shouldnt be selling on ebay........and no professional products shouldnt be sold on ebay as it means unprofessionals can purchase.
But I AM a professional and if I can buy genuine products cheaper on the said site, why shouldnt I? I am a fully trained and insured professional, does my buying cheaper products off ebay make me unprofessional??? And give a poor service? I dont think so!!!!

Absolutly...i was making the point based on others buying from ebay...not just about The edge.

Just to bring another thing into the equation here....if we don't have geekbay how else would any of us sell all our excess products?? The stuff that is legal to sell.
We'd put it on ebay wouldn't we? How else would we sell it now??
Please buy but send me a certificate that you are trained first???? hmmmmm
It's all very disturbing atm.
And where DO these ebay shops get such big supplies?? They can't fall off the back of that many lorries surely?
