Feeling a bit disheartened !

Hi geeks, I've switched over to matrix
From igora but not had a chance to go on the introductory course as it got cancelled, I had a regular client in last week she usually has 5.5 igora she said she didn't really like the golden colour as it faded so we decided to just do 5n matrix as she didn't want any gold, the colour took really well as we had problem before with the colour not covering properly on the ends, she said herself it had taken lovely and I even asked if she wanted shine spray in and it was that shiney she said she felt it didn't even need it her hair felt in lovely condition , she's come back today saying its very dark almost black which it isn't black but I put her hair against the 5n and it is abit darker than on the chart, she's saying it's made her hair in bad condition and her hairs very dry she's said it's that dark she doesn't even want to go out on Saturday night on her night out and now I feel awful, I've said to get it out I could do a bleach bath but didn't fancy doing that as she was saying her hairs dry, her husbands commented on it being different than before because theres no gold and because he prefers it the other colour now she's saying she doesn't like it xxx

has it got darker since you did it? or was it this dark when you first washed it off? This may be a silly question, but you did make sure you used an anti oxi after you rinsed, and made sure you rinsed it all off....??
I would probably phone the tech help line and ask them, as if its gone darker over time, she may have done something to it

What do you mean an anti oxi? It just looks the same as when I done it , It doesn't look anywhere near blac, I'm thinking cuz her husband prefers it golden she wants it back golden brown, I feel really bad cuz she said she doesn't want to go on her night out on Saturday so it's made me feel awful, do you think maybe because no other colours have ever taken properly on her ends and now I've used a matrix it's covered properly it feels darker as she's used to ends looking slightly lighter. Xxx

If it looks the same as when you'd finished then I'd say it's all in her (and her hubby's) perception. It's been a week since she's had it done though so you can't be sure she hasn't done anything to it. You'd need to see it and assess it yourself - don't take her word for it that it's dry - if it is dry then offer a conditioning treatment and add some warmth with a quasi then suggest that on her next appointment you could do a cleanse to lift some of the colour and use a shade or 2 lighter so it's not as "dark".

I've already seen it she came in salon, her hair has always been dry since I've been doing it, she's got little bobbly white bits on her ends as though it's been burnt on the ends with straightners but she said she doesn't straighten it at all so it's always been dry anyway I used a treatment on her hair after I done her colour, don't think she has tried do anything to it herself its just the same as when she left the salon, her words was it looked lighter in the salon than what it does outside which I just can't see that as my lighting isn't very bright in the salon and where my work stations are there's no direct light above each chair if that makes sense.xxx

If you used colour sync and left it on longer than 20 mins it will go 1 shade darker for every 10 mins it is left on xx
