So, I've just seen a video on youtube where it looked like someone was using I-tips for prebonds... I actually went on there to find out about cake pops.. but you know what it's like, you go on there for something and emerge 3 days later blurry eyed and knowing how to crochet booties for ducks!

Anyway, either these pre bonds were the smallest, narrowest U-tips I have ever seen or, as I said, they were actually I-tips. Fair play, the bonds were some of the smallest and neatest bonds I have seen but I am not sure how well they would last.

So have any of you ever heard of, or used, this method? Or are my eyes deceiving me?? :|

Would be interesting to know your thoughts xx

I did once. I used I tips for fusion. It was just on a friend to try as I had some extra bonds laying around in I tip. I melted them first with the wand and then applied and it worked okey. They stayed in well as far as I saw.

See now that I can understand as if you melt the tip with the wand first then apply to the hair, it's not really much different to fusion is it?

But this lady took the section, laid the I-tip underneath (just as you would with a U-tip) applied the heat for about 3 seconds then rolled the natural hair around the I-tip. It did result in a really neat and almost undetectable bond as the adhesive was inside the roll but I wondered how well they would last like that. Maybe I should do some experiments :) x
