I have found that turning the colour bottle upside down as soon as client picks it (before i start prep - i put it between my legs lol) then shaking the hell out of it while the basecoat is curing has helped so much with this. Example, when I first used aubergine on my friend i put 3 coats on and it could've done with another. Now Im wearing 2 coats of it and it's perfect.

no i mean colours such as strawberry, blue boost, pink pop without shimmer no matter how much i roll, shake turn upside down they need so many coats without seeing the free edge and some you always see the free edge!

My Blue Boost thickened up eventually Frankie, but I don't think Strawberry or Pink Pop ever will xx

ah ok sorry. I don't have any of those colours and the trick seems to work with the colours I have. It's such a shame that some colours are so sheer! Do they look ok or streaky? Could they maybe be used for layering instead?

I spent most of today doing a wheel of rockstars for when my home salon finally opens. But I struggeld of course to get decent pics. I love glitter, which is a good thing because I am now COVERED in it!

The last one was just my messing around with acrylic paints (trying to teach myself one-stroke!)

Thank you! I've watched so many one stroke videos on youtube and they make it look so easy. It isn't when you're rubbish at art like me! haha

I haven't tried it but I do have some large glitter flakes like that, it looks lovely. I keep meaning to try something use the bigger flakes.

I'm not sure how to go about it... I imagine that when you're stroking your top coat brush down the nail, the glitter particles would all move?

yeah I know what you're saying. Maybe if you topcoat and cure, wipe tacky layer and then just put topcoat where you want the glitter and sprinkle on, press down and cure. Then another topcoat and cure?

Bit finniky though I know. Next time I have a free day I'll have a play.

Sorry for sounding thick but how do you use the paints with Gelicure?

I tried the chunky glitter with Purple Power... What do you's think? I used two layers of top coat so it felt quite smooth xx

Ah it looks great. How did you do it in the end? Just picked up with a brush?

I've just read through that long thread on here about removal. I'm really struggling with removal on my own nails. It took me an hour last night!! My home salon opens next month and I can't be spending an hour on removal. (I know it's takes longer on myself because I'm doing one at a time, but still...)

I think maybe I was putting too much remover on the pad and so I tried less last night and think that wasn't enough!! GAH! I'm gonna try the cucumber non-acetone remover this weekend and see if that's any better. It's so frustrating.

I had this problem at the start, I think a most of us did. The main reason I think for a long removal is base coat being too thick. I found the cucumber remover did not work at all.

I don't think that's it. I do my base coat really thin.

Maybe not your base then. I use Elegant Touch Get Em Off Nail Remover as I tried all different removers and found it worked best, if that helps.
