Hi Ladys,

Im qualified in Micro ring hair extensions and i had a client last night with extrememly thin hair! I put as many as i could in the head without them showing up but iit didnt have the thickness that i would have liked to achieve. Looking at the back it was a bit wispy at the ends. She was really pleased with it but as a professional i notcied it was something i would like to improve on. Can anything be done in cases like this? Or do you think i need to qualify in another method for ultra fine hair? Iv been thinking of training up in other methods so this wouldnt be out of the question for me.
Thanks in advance! any advise would be fab! x

I was taught that you had to match the clients hair e.g. If its thick, you use bigger strands to get th same thickness or use more bonds and visa versa with thin hair. The way youve got to look at it is if the clients was to grow her own hair to the length of the extensions you were going to put in, what would her natural hair look like? Would t be thin, medium or thick? Just remember they are supposed to look natural so if she is happy you should be too! :) just remember that you did the best you could and extnsions arnt for everybody :) hth xx

I always use tape extensions on clients with thin hair they lay flat to the head and the bonds are virtually undetectable. If u get premium ones then the bonds come with hair laying over them to give the effect that it's hair growing from the root. It still amazes me alot of people don't use these!

Thanks 'All dolled up'! Yes i think if her own hair grew it would look exactly the same as how i did it. Sometimes you do get people who think they can get mega thick hair out of nowhere. but at least im doing nothing wrong or missing anything which is the main thing! :) xx
Blondilocks! im desperate to train in these as iv also noticed these arent very popular. Do you know anyone who trains in these? they sound fab for thin hair.
thank you! x

I trained with rapture which is a good company, there part of Banbury Postiche which is a major uk wig makers. Customer service is Always excellent quick delivery etc, the hair it self is amazing as well! But there so easy to apply the training is basic it helps alot to have a hairdressing background! :)

I don't put microlinks in fine hair for the reasons you stated. Prebonded are much better and you can cut them in half to make micro bonds to use around the sides so that they are completely undectable. Also with stick tip hair for the microlinks, the weight ratio could be too heavy for the piece of hair your attaching it too,Obviously fine hair is sparser. If the strand of hair is too heavy then it will cause traction alopecia. I would definitely recommend extending your training to pre-bonded.x

Thanks so much debcam! I thought this was the case with micro rings. When i have blonde.fine hair clients i do dread it a little! I will most definately do pre bonded :) x
