Hair up and how to get started?

i am a training hairdresser but i love putting hair up and styling and creating it just been watching patrick cameron on youtube and i live his work i get excited watching it im a geek i know lol.. but what im wanting to know is how can i do more of these work wise once im a qualfied hairdresser and the best route to go down as i like being really creative so would it be a good idea to volunteer in spare time on student videos or theatres etc ?

If you are training you should be learning some hair up during this time.
I would also recommend doing some hair up courses in the specific areas you want to do i.e evening hair...
You wouldnt be able to really do theatres unless your training includes wig work as thats what 99 % of theatre work is( and doesnt pay good)

ive already done the hair up section on my course i also took part in blackpool hair competitions which i loved .. and can already do hair up styles im always doing them at college or on my friends.. and im not to fussed about money i just want to do it because i enjoy it.. id of love to have done media level 3 but then i wouldnt be a qualified hairdresser so no way of earning money whilst getting my self experiance in media x
