No way!!! Thats awful. I didnt know that!!

Yes - so although the stall itself sounds reasonably cheap (around £750 + VAT for the smallest one they do at Birmingham, which is 2m x 2m), you then find that there are other costs like the electrics and whatnot - which are pretty much a necessity - as you definitely need decent lighting - and also power for any other electrical kit you need to use (e.g. computers, monitors, etc)...
 
I've just got back from Excel this evening, and it's probably about a third of the size than it was say 5 years ago (Sonia and I went with some friends who had a stall there selling make-up back then); 5 years ago it took up 3 of the halls and they also had a lot of stalls selling spa equipment and jacuzzis and whatnot - whereas today it was in a single hall (although it was pretty packed out especially in the late morning/early afternoon).
