I have seen three people lately who have had their nails redone whilst on holiday or when I was unavailable but returned to me for the regular appointment. I buff the top coat as normal, soak cotton with gel remover, wrap in foil as normal and they hold their hands to warm the remover and hasten the softening process. This makes absolutely no difference whatsoever to the gel. I've tried soaking in acetone as if it's acrylic but that barely makes a difference so my only option is to file it off which I dislike.

This gel applies like nail varnish from a bottle, cures under a UV lamp, doesn't last any better than Harmony Gelish so I'm not interested in stocking it but I'd love to know if anyone knows what it is so I can stock some remover!

Many thanks! x

If you find one let me know!!

I have a lady who normally soaks her own off, she's come back from holiday and can't get her toes off. I'm going to have a look on Wednesday but have told her I can't make any promises.

Sounds like it could be coloured hard gel? Which would mean you'll have to file it off.

I had a client with nails like this who'd had them done in Greece and I Couldn't get it off for love nor money. I could only describe it as hard gel. x

Where in Greece if I may ask? Coloured hard gel could be an option, but it usually chips away whithout the base gel.
Another possibility is fake shellac-wannabes that are very common here. It's easy to find a 5€ bottle and pretend to be a nail tech for 8€ per set! They are regular gel polish but for some reason their base coat is incredibly adhering, to the point I often have to soak off & buff for near 30-40 mins with many intervals until I manage to get them off. Don't let me even start on the conditon of the nails after such abuse...

I've had this problem when people have had bluesky on.

I don't envy you often having to go through those removals lol.
I can't remember where she said she went, sorry. Was about a year ago, The woman only ever came to me once for removal as she only gets her nails done for holiday & couldn't wear any enhancements for work.
Only got them done abroad as a one off because she didn't have time before she went.
I removed the shine and soaked for 10 mins as I normally would, checked them and nothing budged. Soaked them some more and they were still the same. Ended up filing them off. x

yes of course! Stupid me. The colour completely threw me. I've got hard gel but it's clear. So filing is always going to be the only option:( thanks very much! x
