hi ive got dark hair not natural its a colour on it .. i want to go lighter. to go bright red .. i know my hair could take a bleach wash but then i have to be carefull what colours i put on in the future and i have really long hair so wouldnt want to be chopping it off lol.. anyway will colour b4 lighten my hair enough or will i need to do a bleach bath and what will damage my hair more? i am a trainee hairdresser so thats why im scared cause no bleach can dry hair even more x

yea i dont want to go extremly light just lighter so i can put a tempory red on my hair thats. i might give the colour b4 a go then and do a strand test first to be on the safe side lol x

hi there i see your training, does your salon carry a colour remover range? colour b4 is a weaker version of blondie rae (please someone correct me if im wrong) the other thing with these products is you have to follow the instructions to the dot as if you havent rinsed for even a minute long enough your hair will go back to dark with tint going on it, and even if you have done it to the dot you may have to repeat it anyway......
could you have this done in the salon/college?

Hi Lea,

colour b4 is not sold as a professional product as it's available in the high street.

Why not use the pro version (Blondie Rae) or other pro colour remover (Affinage Eraser etc.) instead?

It will work out cheaper to use, if you use it more than once anyway.

I'd advise you to continue your hairdressing training with personal experience of professional products. That way, you will be more confident when dealing with your clients' colour queries.

I'm not suggesting that colour b4 is rubbish, (anything is better than a bleach bath IMO), but thinking as a hairdresser, would you recommend that your clients use a box dye rather than a professional tint?

Good luck with whichever product you use. :D

Great minds...

Sorry siobrennan, should have checked for a reply before pressing submit...!

sorry just seen the replys yes i went to sallys and got a golwell colour remiver but unfortunatly it wouldnt do anything to my hair so the option i had left was a bleach bath but thanks for all the advice x

Hiya I've just posted a similar question lol,

I've used colour before on my hair in the past and it was pretty good considering how much dye build up I had on my hair, but I found that it didn't do much to the ends as they're very dark so think I'm going to have to bleach D:

I've also used the goldwell colour remover and in my opinion it's similar results to colourb4 think it all depends how dark your hair is and how long you've been dying it dark.

Xx

well luckily i did a strand test if i had of used it on my full head i wouldnt if wanted to risk bleach bathing it lol x
