I ordered a weft which arrived but i was a bit shocked as it looked like it had lice , on closer inspection it was the roots on the tip ends.

This cannot be right surely as it would knot up after a wash ???

Can anyone confirm with me this is not right?

thank goodness for that!! Lice do only live on hair that is attached to a head they can feed from and i don't they'd with stand the processing extensions go through.
If the hairs not cuticle correct it will "back comb" as soon as it's brushed. I purchased some hair about a year ago and thought I had a similar problem ie the roots. turns out in non russian or european hair the chemical processing can leave what looks like bobbles - (is that what it looks like?)

It's remy hair, which means it has been brushed out, the combing collected, hackled out, dipped in acid to remove the cuticle then coated in silicone.

That is the unpalatable truth about remy hair, whether it says AAA on the packet or not.

There are sometimes nit eggs present, but these are dead and will not infest your hair.

Yes it will go into nasty rat tails after a few washes. That's why most shampoos sold by extension companies contain silicone.

Properly prepared European or Russian hair is not processed as such. It is washed, dried and drawn. The only processing should be colouring.
There should be no bobbles of anything left on the hair.

i've seen this written a few times now, i was taught (and read etc etc...) that remy meant cutical intact and not stripped, and the hair was drawn to point in the correct direction ie that of growth, and that non remy hair the cutical is stripped and the hair is laid down in a random order. i feel kinda silly now if this is right  not picking holes lol just want to get my knowledge correct as im confused!! always looking to improve my knowledge :)

Send it back and demand a refund ... goods not fit for purpose

I have some pictures for you all to see and decide, interestingly one of the pics shows the piece of gold tinsel woven into the weft as well:sad:

I have contacted the company , im not mentioning it as i havent come here with this for any vengeance against them, all i will say is they are mentioned on many threads here, and so i would check your stock to be certain your not supplying this hair to your customers.

They have agreed to refund me on its return without issue, so my search for hair is back on

It looks like serious split ends to me, or even when hair gets singed. Thank god you can return them :)

This happened to me before, and I was told it was where the ends had been singed through the chemical processing, obviously because Indian hair starts out dark and to get it lighter can be quite a harsh process.

I'm really pleased your supplier is sorting this out for you - signs of good customer service as when I had the problem last year the company the hair was from (which I won't mention but they're not mentioned on here much and i now know why) were useless, rude and said I was wrong. I'm slightly worried about above posts and the meaning of Remy. Think some people also need to do the research on terminology. Just because they seemingly have a lot of experience and only supply very expensive hair (which in some areas clients just simply cannot afford) this doesn't mean they are always right and better than the rest of us. Constructive criticism and advice is always helpful and welcome but some Geeks on here seem to just slate everyone and everything but themselves - rant over. But google the meaning of Remy and not every site can be wrong!! Siobrennan - I'm sure the training companies wouldn't be allowed to provide incorrect information when they are giving training and having courses approved.

Remy hair, unless I'm very much mistaken is tied into a pony tail and cut from the persons head... it is not pulled from the head by the roots!! I know exactly what you are on about. They look like black bobbles. This means that the ends of the hair have been singed. I have seen this before too. Only the lighter ones though. It's something to do with the lightening process.. I use wefts all the time for micro weft fittings and have had no problems as yet! Hope I havn't jinxed myself now.. lol
