Help with perm

when i was training many moons ago the technician used to use wella headlines she used large hard plastic setting rollers rather than perm rods, i cant seem to find the same rollers as she used,
I'm going to perm my mums hair and cat find perm rods that are big enough just for a root lift perm
so would it be OK to use something like the large hed jog setting rollers?

When those sort of semi permanent perms were launched we used loreal animatics, these sound like the animatics rollers!! I loved animatics! Normal rollers would be ok as long as they're not spiked. Spiked rollers will leave marks on the hair. Have you got black perm rods? If so I'd say use them and take thicker meches than normal! Hath

I would also love to know where to get large rollers from. Black rods just dont cut it on long hair if you want big flicky curls, you just cant get the old headlines ones anymore :sad:
