so I did my friends nails last night and actually took pics she wanted them very sparkly for a wedding and for everyone who seen my previous posts no I suffer so bad with lack of confidence that whilst qualified I don't actually do paying clients for fear of not being good enough should add the colour on the thumbs is diff to fingers

Nothing really wrong with these at all but for my pennies worth . Try and get a little closer to the sidewalls with your colour . From the pic both the index fingers look like a good application but if you look at some of the others you can see there is a gap at the sidewalls . Right little and ring and left ring and thumb shows most what I mean

Honestly give yourself a kick up the bum as these are perfectly acceptable and a neat application .

Just get a bit closer to the sidewalls at the same time making sure you do not touch the skin

Also make sure to cap free edge . Looks like this may have been missed on the left little

When I apply a colour I first flatten the brush in the center by cuticle ( lets just call it that for now ) and apply from center to free edege .. Then starting at center again take your brush press down firmly and 'swipe ' brush with a curve up round one sidewall to free edge then repeat for other side

These are good though so stop beating yourself up . The WORST technicians are those that think they have done a perfect application !!!!!

I have been doing nails for 20 years and I STILL keep looking to see if I can improve

Keep going :)

I no I really struggle with short nails and the sidewalls I noticed this to this is one of the reasons I won't go pro yet I feel like I need to be 100% before I charge I'm always looking to improve I just keep putting it off and saying I need practice ☺️☺️

Really nice set of nails...yes, you could get a bit closer to the sidewall but they are lovely.

My biggest criticism....that you don't charge people!! Get out there and start taking paying customers!! [emoji2]

haha thanks I'm so lacking in confidence I just keep putting it off and practicing on friends and family the main thing I'm struggling with is going back and to with gel and then vinylux I predominately use varnish for nail art which I've been doing a lot of recently then to go back to gel like yday it's like I'm starting again with the technique then il have a spurt of gel requests and my varnish will look like a toddler been let loose haha x

Nice job! Very pretty! As said before try and get closer down the side walls and try using a thin brush with some isopropyl alcohol on it to clean up the edges and get that nice clean curve round the cuticle area.
Also make sure you are properly capping the nails to ensure your client gets the best wear out of it and this can also help with shrinking if you ever run into that issue.
You should be confident in yourself because your work is looking good!
Keep it up xxx

Lovely . I am sure you know the big toe needs improving and a couple of others just closer to the sidewall but honestly get yourself out there and start making money . There are PLENTY of nail techs working who are not as neat as this. Well done you for plucking up the courage to start posting your work

Is that art free hand ?
x

yey just with dotting tool the nail art I saw the nail at the top and one of my spots has over took the silver more than I'd like on one of the toes I just need more practice I haven't done gels for a good few weeks normally I have a few goes on my practice fingers to he back in the swing of it but I was ambushed lol x

The freehand art is lovely . BE confident the longer you leave it to do paying clients the harder it will become .

Fake it till you make it lol

I remember my first paying customer . I was sooooo nervous . But I ACTED confident and then I began to feel confident and I lied lol. She asked me had I had much response to my ad ( she had come via a letterbox drop I did ) and i told her yes it had been fantastic and I had been really busy lol - I did not want her to know she was my first one as I felt better being able to 'act ' my way though the appt . After that first one I relaxed and after every customer it just got easier and easier

. If you are good at chatting to people and can chat away as you are doing it your nerves will calm . Remember your customer does not know you are new . As far as they are concerned you are the pro and they have come to you as you have a skill set they do not and they will not have a clue if you are doing things in the right order , if you made a mistake , left something out ect .

Buckle up girlie and enjoy the journey .;)

haha I'm trying I will get there soon hopefully and thank you for your comments X
