hiiii all!
i have a client who is 100% pure white grey! she has a warm blonde on her hair already. probably about a 10..she wants to go ashy so i was wondering if in igora royal i cud use 12-01 or 12-02 orrrr 10-02 or 10-01
wud the 12 series touch her pure white roots for full head application, also wud i do roots then comb through after 20 mins or just put on all over or highlights

Impossible! 10 and 12 will only tone, not add depth, you need to come down to a 8 or 9

ok cool, so how is she already a 10-5 ish say?

It works out that they are on the same level ie a 10. Like someone with a natural base of 5 wanting a 5/4 only the copper tone is gonna work not the base colour. So if you were to apply 10/3 only the gold would grab on.
So we go in with 9 to keep the brightness AND cover at the same time.
So if it was me and without seeing the clients hair I would go in with 9/13 or your colour brands equivalent. This will ensure coverage and if it is still a little too warm for the client you could apply an ash semi, and visually develope

Hi there.

I would apply Igora Royal 9-1 and 9-0 with 6% developer in a 1:1:1 ratio on the roots first. Leave for around 15-20 mins, then depending on how warm her blonde mid lengths and ends are, maybe apply just 9-1 with maybe a few cm of 0/11 with 3% developer to the rest of the hair and process for a further 20 mins.

If her blonde mid lengths and ends are very warm, ie golden/copper I could use the 9-2, but would keep a close eye during the rest of the development in case it starts to go a bit too ashen/dark.

If the result is good, then next time I would just tint her re-growth with the 9-1 and 9-0, then water down the remaining tint with a little warm water and re-fresh the rest of her hair (if faded) for 10-15 mins.
