Hi geeks any ideas, got a hairdressing friend to do a 7.1 and highlights and it just looks really red. Strange as pre-pigged with gold on any blonde that wasn't foiled and I can't stand it! I don't mind going darker but all combinations I think of and I can see it going wrong. I tried a flat 6 before but still really red when tested it any ideas? My brains frazzled with all the ideas! I use loreal so would prefer colour suggestions with that

Colour to begin with....? pre pigged hair not in foils??? need more info x

I was 6/7 before with highlights from previous colours.I wanted to go really flat I can post a pic so we said 7.1 but as she couldn't grab all the hightlights in foils we sponged a bit of wella colour fresh perfecton in gold so it wouldn't go khaki as I didn't have a 7.3 and it's gone really coppery. :-s

Finding it difficult to understand what you want to do :/

You want a flat colour, but you added gold to the unfoiled part of hair?

If you're hair is throwing up red, then using 7.1 won't help you, if it's throwing up copper then it will, you have to decipher between the 2 to choose your colour...if it is definately copper then either a 7.10 (if it exists lol) or a 7.11

If you want a flat, dark blonde....why don't you just do a full head tint insted of highlights?

Not enough info really.... Did you have any natural regrowth? If so what level are you? What did you mix ur tint with vol wise?

Sorry if confusing peeps. Right I'm naturally quite ashy so what I wanted to do was go back to that all over with high lights. The colour before was quite orangey hence my choice for 7.1. I pp with gold to add a bit of warmth only to blonde highlights that hadn't caught up in foils as that is impossible so as not to end up with khaki highlights. Now I have a coppery colour all over with highlights as I can't pick out the highlights on myself in thinking about dying over it all.x

I could be getting this completely wrong but would you not be better to have some scattered highlights with bleach & 10 vol, and then tint all over with a flat 7 (depending on you're actual colour so maybe a 7.1 or 7.7) otherwise you're not actually going to achieve a flat 7 with highlights, you'll have a warm colour all over with ash lowlights?

Sorry if im not getting it lol

Nope you have it that's what I did. Tint of 7.1 all over and highlights but it's still gone really orangey not so flat. Can you see what's happened now? X

Yesss i get it lol i understand the pre pig now :D

Is it a red/orange tone or purely orange?

Ok so your quite ashy naturally but what base level? If the colour was already orangey why did you prepig? What volume peroxide did you mix the 7.1 with?

Im thinking the pre pig was because there was blonde to cover with the 7,1 that wasn't wanted in foils so that's understandable, although if i was covering with a 7 id probably use a copper gold not just gold.

Pics would be better! I though the colour was already orangey already? Confused.com ;-/

Yes that's it's perry now your where I am (sorry for the confusion just typing like mad as I'm desperate to get rid lol) :)
