Hi guys,
I'm a fully qualified nail tech but I have never taken it up as a career due to focusing on hairdressing, I just wondered how long it took everyone to master the art of acrylic, I know when I was learning I struggled with ratios ,

Any input would be much appreciated

Thanks X

To master the product and be able to put it where i want it......6 months or so.
To master a full set of lasting nails....about 9/12 months
To be fully confident when a new client walked through the door....2 years

Wow I better get practicing! Thanks

I qualified in L&P with S2 in March.

I've practiced on a practice hand or a couple of Guinea pig clients every couple of days since and I am now only just brave enough to have put it on my service menu.

Im now confident that I can shape the nails using the brush fairly well and that the bead consistency is what it should be. I also no longer resemble a fumbling idiot when placing forms! [emoji23]

I'd say a good 2 years to master the application but even now after 6 years I see a change from my work last year so I think there's always room for improvement.

To feel like I had full confidence in myself, a good 3 years. This was when I knew that any issues were likely to be the client rather than myself.

Here is am example of what I mean.

The picture in top corner was after 3 years qualified.

The main pic is 6 years.

Although both were as strong and I knew they'd last without lifting there was still room for improvement.... And there still is... :)
