I've been using nail forms and been building tips, hoping to overcome issues that a few clients experience with plastic glued-on tips 'pinging' off.
There's only one client who still has this issue, mostly with their thumb nail, and so any guidance on how to ensure a more robust plastic, or IBD built tip, would be greatly appreciated.

Tips do not add any strength to the nail. They are just a platform for the product. If they are pinging off, the issue is either the tip being sized to small, and/or your stress area is not done properly. Also, prep can be a factor.

I've considered that my client who had a pinged nail tip, was used to having acrylic nails, so may possibly have considered the plastic tip to be as strong.
In the meantime, I'll review my tip sizing and work on the stress area, as well as the prep.
