if you could give any advice to a tech starting out what would it be????

Be confident in your ability and be totally honest with clients- i'm fairly new myself and am slowly building up a wee client base. If you are honest with your clients, they'll trust you and come back. Take your time, I generally find clients aren't too worried if you take a little longer if it results in a good job rather than a rushed one.
