If they came straight off they most likely didn't adhere properly to the nails. Did you use just the base coat, or one of their bonders?

Make sure you properly scrub the nails with the dehydrator, and make sure you have enough product on the lint free wipe.
The base coat really needs to be super thin, I usually go back to the bottle to take off excess polish a few times.

My friend had a couple of chips within the first couple of days and then over the course of yesterday and today they peeled off completely.

With mine they were good for a couple of days and then the free edge stated to lift at the edges. When I soaked off those nails it all came away easily but the middle of the free edge took a little longer, which suggests that had adhered ok. The same was true of my friends, the middle seemed to have adhered far better than the sides.

I'm just using the base coat and I think I have it thin enough, don't think I can get it any thinner. But I don't think I was dehydrating enough so I made more of an effort with that this time on both of our nails. Fingers crossed.

If that doesn't resolve it would you suggest one of their bonders?

Brill, let us know how you get on! X

I've not used any of their bonders myself, but I've heard great reviews for their 007 bonder. Might be worth looking into?

Will do. I'll see how I get on but I may if I'm still struggling as I'm not pushing for new clients as in strangers until I've mastered this.

I've just done a gel polish mani on myself. I used the INK top and base and tried one of my new madam glam colours. (Yes I'm mixing systems as I didn't want to buy the madam glam base and top, only do this on yourself)

When applying the base I can literally do about 2-3 nails without going back on the bottle. I wipe both sides on the brush, and you can barely see the bead on the brush.

When I dehydrated I applied the dehydrator on a lint free wipe, scrubbed 2 nails including the tip and slightly under the free edge. After 2 nails I turned the wipe over, applied another squirt of dehydrator and did another 2 nails. After 4 nails I throw the wipe away and use a new one. When dehydrating don't be afraid to properly scrub the nail.

That's really helpful, thank you. What do you make of Madam Glam? I did consider them as they're also meant to be cruelty free.

I think if anything I'm brushing too much off the brush, particularly with the colour as I have to keep dipping back in. How many wipes f the colour do you before applying and how often?

Have you got any close up pics of the nails you have done before or after the chipping? We may be able to help see what's wrong. Are you shaking the bottles well before use? x

It's hard to explain, I dip the brush in, then wiggle it out side to side, so I'm left with a small bead on the end only, and very little polish at the top of the brush, which otherwise will drain downwards and flood the bristles as you are applying.

I'll try to remember to take a pic tomorrow for you! X

Not too keen on MG, the consistency was way too thick for my liking. The colour is stunning tho!! X

I've got a good few of immediately after but none once they start to come off, but if mine do it again, which I hope they won't, I'll take pics. I'm stiring the product as recommended by Ink

Ahh, perhaps I made the right choice then, if I get the hang of it!

Post a pic of some immediately after that did end up chipping we may be able to see what the problem is if the quality of the pic is good enough x

This was the first application I did afyer trailing on myself. I have other pics but I'm waiting to see what happens to them.

Very lovely colour and very neat especially for a beginner, it looks good you've got that in the bag so once your lifting is sorted you should have some very happy clients so don't be disheartened! From what I can see the side of the free edge of the thumb hasn't been capped properly and this would cause lifting, I have attached a zoomed in pic so you can see where I mean. Cap the free edge first so that when you apply the polish after you will wipe off any excess so it isn't too thick which will also cause lifting. It is hard to tell on the others X

Thank you for the positive feedback, that'd really good to hear. I do take quite a long time but I know I'll get quicker. Better to get the finish right rather than rush it.

I can see what you mean and I do struggle with the best technique for sealing the free edge. My trainer used a tapping technique but i notivebon you tube vids that other run the brush along the free edge. I seem to flout between the 2 and haven't yet decided what I find best.

I have been working on my sealing. Here's a pic of my nails and a friend I did last night. Not sure how well they show the free edge though.

PS it is a very pretty colour, even nicer in the flesh.

Firstly well done, that application is very neat around the cuticle, a day the colour has a very even coverage.

I agree with nailedit00, it does look like some nails aren't capped, or the product has shrunk away from the free edge.
I shake my polishes, no matter what other ppl say :p, I find giving them a real good shake makes a real difference.

I'm not sure if it's the lighting, but it looks like there is a ridge near the cuticle, how many layers did you apply, in total?
I rly, rly think your chipping might be caused by too thick application, especially the base coat, and not enought prep scrubbing, but it's really hard to advice via the Internet.

You shouldn't beat yourself up too much about this btw, your nails looks stunning and you should be proud! X

I'll work on the capping and on my latest one I wiped off the inhibition layer before applying colour to help stop it shrinking back. I'll see if I can get a pic of my nails look at the ends so you can see thickness and capping. Interestingly I never have a problem with my little or ring fingers. Although the same can't be true of my clients
