Hi I've been doing mobile for a year now. I am very busy (shouldn't complain) but finding it difficult to organise, clients, timing, directions, taking calls whilst driving etc. Also not sure what is the best way to deal with complaints.. Feel like I've taken on a bit to much.

Where abouts are you based? I am mobile and finding it hard to get myself noticed! Also prices of things etc.
Any suggestions? X

I'm also struggling mobile. I was busy to begin with but these past 3 weeks have been so quiet. My prices are very reasonable for where I live yet somehow I'm just not being noticed. I'm advertising getting friends and family to give out my business cards but nothing. Just hope it picks up or il be forced to find a full time job while it takes off. ( I get married next year do need all the cash I can find!) cx

Hi! I'm the same! Iv just set myself i mobile! February was rammed! Took a full-time wage however march is reallllllllyyy quiet and I'm worried! Iv gt a Facebook page, website, cards, leaflets but not sure how to get noticed x

I have been mobile for 3 years and love it! I book an hour for all cuts, blow dry's, hour and a half for sets and 3 hours for colouring and work within a 10 mile radius. I have a sat nav which I couldn't be without now, rarely get lost! And I let it go to voicemail when driving and then phone back at lunch or when I finish in the evenings.

As for advertising, I got all my clients through leaflet drops. I did the 4 main villages local to me, then the rest was word of mouth. It does take time, but once you have a few regular clients it soon picks up. Don't get disheartened at all, it just takes time.

I left the salon I worked in last June and have gone mobile until the new salon I'm going to be working in is open (hopefully mid march) I love being mobile and have been busy as most of my clients followed me, but the downside for me is carting everything around couch, boxes bags gallore. My backs killing!! I do ok time wise with appointments (always book half hour out in between) for travel and finishing my cuppa and cakes they all give me. Working from 9 untill 10 most nights and most Sunday. I'm ready to go back to normal working hours and everything all in one place xx

With mobile work you really have to persevere when you first start so as to get yourself known and build up a clientele.
Then make sure you know roughly how long each treatment takes to know how long to allocate for each appointment. Then add a little extra for unexpected bits (especially if a new client /treatment), chatting etc
Know your area well so you know how long to leave between each client and a little extra for traffic hold-ups.
You may find you run out of time or run early sometimes-this goes with the territory of being mobile im afraid.
A sat nav is a MUST-well for me anyway :)
I dont take calls when driving-I text a lot and listen to voicemails and then reply later or when I am free between appointments.
Complaints are few and far between and each one should be dealt with depending on the complaint.
Be methodical as best you can-its not easy, but the money can be great.
x

Hi thanks for your reply's. I think organisation and set working hours is the way forward as I'm worn out.

I started a year ago, I had a fair few clients that followed me from my previous salon.. Facebook has been my major advertising tool and using selling pages on fb has been a great success . I also advertise on yell.com
Just need to be careful giving your number out freely as I've had a few strange requests 😲
