Had a client contact me 2day she is looking to have her roots done she has full head of light blonde but she says she had bonded extensions fitted just 3weeks ago and never got her roots done for getting them in so has big roots now but how would I be able to get the colour on without it touching the bonds I apply bonds to clients myself but make sure their colour is done therefore when regrowth accursed I have more room to work with?any advice would be great x

Im not a hairdresser but i have hair extensions fitted alot, i only ever get my Tbar or top section done and round edges underneath and its fine. I have never had anyone do my roots while my bonds were in. Maybe you could just do the top for her. She wont see the underneath where the bonds are anyway? Your life is easier and she is happy? X

By doing it all very carefully, but charge more! Xoxo

I'd personally only do a t - section / half head. x

Yeah I said to her about doing the sections that don't have extensions but she wasn't keen on that think il just play it by ear go and see her ear then as said just do it finely and carefully thanks geeks x

Explain to her the rest of her head doesn't need doing, if it did you'd be able to see her bonds anyway. I only do t section and around the hairline. When I rinse I lean the client forwards over the basin so no colour runs over the hair, and that's hair I have fitted so know where it's from. I wouldn't risk it if colour gets on those bonds the extensions could fall out or the colour could ruin the hair. X

I strongly recommend to do just T section, just because to do full head of highlights on the parts where bonds are still in is difficult and second it is hard to wash the Colour out, it might get stuck between bonds and roots. This may cause tangling and not appearing of knots. It is good idea to do full head og highlights when bonds are out, for example for some of my clients I do full head of highlights every 2.5 month, when they come for hair extensions maintenance.
