hi, i think baby will come when its ready, and not a lot you can do make it any earlier, but if it helps my second baby weighed 10lb 12oz! and came out very fast and easy,, so try not to worry and good luck XX

I had a scan the day before I had my first child and was told that the biggest she would be was 6lb. Well she was nearly 8lb so a scan only gives them an idea about the baby's size, its not fool proof!

i was 10 days overdue with my little girl and labour was brought on by having a membrane sweep. On my due day i had my midwife/ consultant appointment and was booked in for induction on the day she was born. She was 9lb.
With my second he was measuring 3 weeks ahead on his size at my 5 month scan so had to go back at 36 weeks to see the size and to see if i was going to have to be induced. He was still measuring big but they said it was nothing abnormal...i was petrified. I had no probs with the delivery of caitlin but was just petrified as to how big this baby was actually going to be. I ended up going 1 day over due and he weighed 8. 15lb ...less than caitlin (only just but still less) they basically siad that they cannot tell exactly how much the baby will weigh its just an estimate.
I really wouldnt get too worried about it...you will be fine...especially f u had no probs the first time around.
xx

I completely agree.

Ok air your anxieties with your midwife, but if she suspected there would be a problem it would be discussed with you.

Let nature take it's course

thanks fo all you replys!!!
i saw mw yesterday and his head is engaged so hopefully wont be overdue!!
she said if i go to term and he is still meauring bigger then she will send me for a scan but not to worry till then!! he was measuring ok yesterday but his head has gone down now so thts why?!!
but not to panicked now as i am more excited his heads engaged!!
just want him to wait a little while longer yet tho as my daughters birthday tomorrow and she has party on sat and on tuesday i am going to have my 1st tantrick spray tan to see if its any good and if to do my training with them!
my luck will be i will go into labour after my spray tan before i can have a shower!!!!lol xx:lol:

Doesnt sound like you have long to wait ! My first was 9lb, my second was 9lb 10oz (how big !!). Didnt feel a thing - completely epidural'd up - fab !! With my second I asked the midwife to do a stretch and sweep (not very dignified) but it can send you into labour (if you're ready) within 48 hours if its ripe enough, think they only do it due date onwards though. I drank raspberry leaf tea (didnt work), ate curries (didnt work), a good long walk can bring the contractions on, but then they can go off again. I would just get your feet up and be served on hand and foot, til he's ready to make an appearance. Yes, easier said than done !! - at least the weather isnt blisteringly hot ! Best of luck xxxx

Glad everything is going OK so far. You definitely sound a lot happier. Don't forget to let us know when the little darling appears!! Good luck.

I can understand your concern. I too drank rasberry leaf tea in the last 4 weeks of pregnancy, on my 2nd pregnancy, as I was told my baby was large, & my 1st baby had been 9 lb 3 oz, and wasn't even over due. so I was a bit scared!! lol.
Did nothing for me.
Cant think of any other tricks lol.......... they just come when they want to!!
I wish you luck with your new baby xx

I totally understand. I went 2 weeks over with both mine, they were both huge and I tried EVERYTHING to hurry up but nothing worked!!! When I finally gave birth with my second the consultant jokingly said me n hubby hadn't been...erm...well, you know, enough. Apparently semen releases something that stimulates the cervix to labour.
