Lamp not always setting!

My calgel UV lamp doesnt always set my shellac colours! Its generally just the one nail but its getting really frustrating wiping over and it coming away, the bulbs have been in since April so dont think they will need changing till Sept time? Just turned them round hope it helps with it. Does anyone else have this problem? If so what did you do to fix it? Thank u xxxx

have you tried using the CND lamp?

You need to use either CND UV or LED lamp, your Calgel one won't cure Shellac unfortunately.

Ive been using it since April and was fine just not working not :-/? Thought it would just be same being a uv lamp. And i time it right with the 2 mins. Looks like ill be investing in a new lamp then lol x

If you're using CND Shellac then the only lamp guaranteed to fully cure it is the CND lamp, either the UV or LED one.

The CND & Calgel Lamps are both 36 Watts so will work for both It may just the angle of the clients hand. Have you tried doing 4 fingers and then the thumb separately?

Just because the lamps are 36 watts doesn't make them equal. That's not how it works.

Wattage is the amount of electricity it take to run the lamp

UVA light is what cures gel products , every lamp will emitted different wavelengths of UVA light so you must use the correct lamp for your system

The wattage used by the lamp is irrelevant to the UVA wavelength which is what cures the polish.

Are you also saying that the Calgel lamp has been tested in a lab specifically with CND Shellac and you can guarantee a full cure?

Hi Ladies,

I was just speaking from experience- Lots of Calgel Pro's use both their lamps to cure both products without any problems.
