Loreal Richesse lifted dark hair?

Hi Geeks!

Had a client in the salon today, who is very dark base, her natural base is a five. Been using loreal majrel number 4. She decided today that she would like the clear loreal dia-richesse put through to add shine, when colour was applied and rinsed off. Her roots had lifted?

Absolutely baffled by this?

Has anyone had this before or any kinda of idea?

the Richesse can lift up to 1.5 shades. the colour technician for loreal said she once did the same thing, used clear to gloss natural hair and it lifted it...what vol did you use? xx

Used 9vol Richesse developer, just lifted the roots! Couldnt believe my eyes!

Weirdest thing!

I used clear over blonde hair before and it turned it dark!! Strangest thing I've witnessed! x

Really? Oh my goodness!!
We just couldnt believe our eyes! If the client had of asked to have her roots almost three shades lighter, you probably wouldnt have acheived it! Typical!! Xx

Yeah very strange!! Luckily it was over a dip dye so came out again with a gentle cleanse, phew!!
