Did a set of shellac on natural nails Friday. And used iris in the two faced collection by magpie. She has just rung to say the dust looks like it's coming off. Any ideas why ladies ? She's coming in tomorrow for me to sort it. I top coated twice so thought it would be safe.

Is it free edge wear or peeling off?

Free edge wear seems to be a consistent problem with pigments, chrome included, not sure we've come up with a final solution, but peeling seems to be down to leaving too much pigment on the nail before topcoating. Theres also has been some suggestions of flash curing first layer of topcoat if using no-wipe topcoat over pigments. The thinking is the second coat of no-wipe topcoat has no sticky layer to adhere to, not sure if it works or not

Do you need to use a no wipe top coat for this? As I did and I found the dust is just sliding off :/ but when I used a normal gel top coat it worked but the colours aren't as bold as how they're supposed to look? Any tips? Thanks :) x

No you don't need no wipe, you need to sticky layer to get the 2face dusts to adhere. You only need no wipe for polishing chrome to the chrome shine. If you use the chrome pigment on the sticky layer it comes out like glitter/shimmer.

Ah right, I thought so. Thanks :) x
