Hi, I have a previously coloured hair majirel 5.0 which has been stripped using a Goldwell colour remover leaving a light orangey colour, which I need to colour to a dark ash blonde. I have to use igora which I am unfamiliar with - would a 6-2 dark blonde ash with a 0-22 concentrate do the job or is the base shade too dark? Any ideas please?

You say you are left with a light orangey color. What base level is this light orangey color. Also what type of color remover is the goldwell. Is it a bleach stripper, or color eraser. What condition is the hair in now.

Goldwell is a remover :)

I didn't do the colour remover but it was goldwell system colour remover so luckily no bleach. Base is now a 7 and condition is reasonable although the hair is naturally dry and curly.

Ok, you can use 6-2 with a cm of 0-22 but these ash blue colors are quite intense and you will probably end up with a base 5 especially if the clients hair is a bit porous. To try and avoid going too dark I would use 7-2 instead.
If 7-2 is not available, mix up 8-2 and 6-2 in a 1:1 ratio and use 3% developer.
Just be wary that the mix tone 0-22 is a very deep blue and adding too much can cause the final result to look very dark brown, almost black.

If you think the orange tone is too intense and are worried about it going too dark, you could instead, bleach bath out the orange tone to a lighter yellow tone, then use 7-1 instead. The -1 series is not as dark as the -2 series.
But obviously only bleach bath if the hair is in good condition and is strong enough to withstand the bleach ect. :)

Thank you so much but you have me worried about the 0-22 now :irked:
I'm worried we will end up back at square one

Thanks
I always worry about using bleach on naturally dry coarse hair, although the hair is apparently strong. I may just do that but with oil beforehand; it should be ok. I agree that a 7-1 would be better that ending up with the same colour that was stripped, and you can always go darker

If your in any doubt about how dark it may go, I would defo stick with the bleach bath, then use the lighter 7-1 or 8-1 to allow for it going a shade or two darker.

I think the -2 series and mix tone 0-22 are good when lifting natural dark bases with red/copper undertones.

:)

I assumed you meant a bleach bath with the existing colours I was supposed to use, i.e. the 6 and 0-22. Do you mean bleach bath plus 7-1 or 8-1 and no 0-22? If I bleach to yellow I am going to get quite a light result using a 7 or 8 on top with no ash concentrate.

Yes, I meant bleach bath the orange color out to a paler yellow, then rinse out ect. Dry the hair then apply your 7-1 which will also neutralise the gold/yellow at the same time. I only mentioned the 8-1 because sometimes really porous hair can go two shades darker.
If you bleach bath to pale yellow, don't add any 0/22 to your 7-1 because again it may go too dark. The cendre ash in the 7-1 should be enough.

You're on - will be back soon with results :wink2:
Thanks x

I forgot to say. Also another reason for not using the -2 series on very pale yellow bleached hair is that there is a risk of the hair going a bit khaki green.
