Hi I am trained in manicure and Gelish application but not really done many standard manicures since I trained. A client of mine wants gel removal and manicure. I offer a standard gel removal and tidy but she has asked for more of Manicure. Should this include a hand massage or is gel removal, cuticle tidy, file and shape & then polish application enough?

Hi, does she want the gel re applied after?xx

Time is money so you should charge for massage time. Also massage should only come at the end of service so you do not contaminate the nail plate with oils.

If she's applying standard polish, then the massage would come before painting. Yes, include a massage and full cuticle work.

Yes I was speaking about gel reapplication :)

I did mention to get that I only tend to do a tidy up after people want their gels removing. She just said that she would like the removal, tidy and polish applying. In training we dos learn massage but as I don't really do polish panicked and really just gel applications I wasn't planning on doing massages. Is this usually expected from a client?

You could always re apply the gel and do a little hand massage after?xx

It depends on what services you are advertising.

You need to make it clear that the service offered is gel polish, removal and tidy.

On the other hand, if you mention polish, removal and manicure, then your clients may want more than the usual tidy up.

So in summary, market yourself accurately and don't feel you need to do something that you are not confident or comfortable in doing.

Time is money and her small hand massage should be charged as extra.

And, if you are going to use standard polish, make sure you have a decent pro brand with top coat and it is quick drying.
