Hi I was in capital buying silver shampoo, I asked a staff member what different brands they sold and she recommend matrix, she also said it was also good for maintaining reds as it neutralises the orange. I've never heard this is it true????

Total rubbish. It will just slightly dull the hair.

Yeah as much as I loves matrix, this is tosh!! It's a great shampoo for blonde but please just skin test if you are going to use it daily.

Thanks guys much appreciate your advice😊

Blue I've seen you write this a few times. Is it just matrix you recommend a skin test or all silver shampoo? I've never been told to do this. I normally use clynol or Schwartzkopf and neither company when training said to do this.

Matrix and loreal say n the bottle, have a check but it does react! C

Some staff in suppliers seem to think that as they can give advice on products it means they know what theyre doing!
Silver shampoo on any warm hair will dull it!
I had a client ring me in the salon once whilst she was in sallys! The girl behind the desk had told her she was perfectly safe to buy 12% and a blue bleach and paste it on strands of her hair to get a blonde apparently this girl put it on her scalp all the time!!!!!!!!!!Eek!
I did ring sallys after to ask a-why are random people going in and being allowed to purchase things and b-what the hell did they think they were doing giving advice on colouring!!!!
Its scary out there guys!

Just to throw something else in.... I have 6rv Matrix and on a Matrix course I was told by a trainer to use the silver shampoo. I can honestly say I saw no difference though!xx

It dosent make sense, reds are backed up with orange tones to intensify them, iv never once done a red colour and been told it looks orange, but I do like the b red's red copper colour xoxo

And as for Sally's don't get me going! That company should be shut down! If you look at other warehouses they don't sell pro the public and are doing fine, even privately owned ones by mine are great. But I can't work out how some1 who isn't in te hair or beauty trade could be allowed to work at Sally's and give advice.
Let's petition that all warehouses have trained and qualified staff who can give advice xoxo

Don't even go there!! I lost out on 65 quid on retail the other day cause a client of mine is joe public with a capital card!!!

To register at my local warehouses I have to take my certs and insurance, only one warehouse I didn't need them with me and that's because the lady who works there knows me from when I was training. When I was training I couldn't get chemicals, which I agree with, but there should be something in place to stop anyone going in them to buy whatever they want. Xoxo

I think its a bloody disgrace that joe public can walk into a warehouse and be allowed to purchase professional products/colours etc and be given advice by totally un trained staff!!
The fact that the shop assisstant was happily selling 12% to an un trained person and knew it but said it was fine and they did it all the time is enough to close that particular warehouse down in my estimation.
Thats like me going to a bloody supplier to dentists and buying a professional level peroxide for teeth whitening.
It totally bugs me.
When i rang and asked what the bloody hell they thought they were doing theyre reply was that they do it all the time and if people want to do their own hair why not!!
We should start a petition and then nationally boycott them!!
Like tomme says i also had to show certs to gain entry to a few suppliers.Well whats the point in that if the odd dodgy ones are letting any tom dick and harry in.
....Struts off out the door rant over.........

i thought in uk sallys were starting to not sell to public ? i know that happened to my local one when i was still living in uk , they wouldnt even let people buy hairspray without a trade card .. and for that you hve to show them your certificates etc..
over here sallys is open to public and omg it does my head in .. i rarely go as i go to the pro wholesalers where you need your licenece to buy stuff but sallys does my head in .. the amount of people you see buying color with no clue how the hell to use it is scary , lol ,.. and the amount of people buying extensions kits and offering them is ridiculous , lol

I understand home kits give the correct amount of peroxide for the tube of colour, but i wonder if the public shopping at warehouses think a full bottle of peroxide goes with a full tube? Or do they even get peroxide as in my experience most think bleach blonde is the only thing that uses peroxide, and some have asked to I just pout the bottle on mine lol xoxo

Blue... I absolutely hate this. I really do. They do it in our suppliers. It really grinds my gears.
It shouldnt be allowed. Its a sin!! X

On a more positive and slightly different note... Fudge silver shampoo (they call it a violet shampoo) is really good!! You do have to wear gloves or really scrub your hands after!!

(Although i too dont like sallys they couldnt even run round the carpark let alone run the bloody shop!! ....errrm i dont know is often heard in the sallys near me!)

Just a thought, wouldn't violet shampoo also be good for someone who's had a violet tint? Xoxo

I've always wondered this but then I bleach and tone my hair, then shampoo normally until the toner fades and then use my purple shampoo to keep toning as it would just strip the toner straight out leaving me with purple ends and yellow roots...do using that theory is presume it would fade the colour more than helping the tone...but I still couldn't say either way for sure!

Yep I'm up for a petition!! It's outrageous that's anyone can go in some warehouse's and buy what they like, my step daughters friend went in and they recommended bleach and 12% to put through her permed hair... She bought it too, she came to me and said " I've bought this from The wholesaler can you put it on for me? " i won't repeat what I said but her lovely wella colours I put through instead look beautiful.
