Is there anything else that can be used?
Just had a client who has teeny eyes, and the gel pads just slid into her eye like they were too heavy, tape also did the same thing?! It was a nightmare. The lashes turned out really nice though, just took longer! Xx

vasaline and micropore really does stick down those unruley little lashes that keep popping up over the eyepads, altho eyepads and micropore are good together too.
has anyone tryed the transpore tape, that is really great for very high cheek bones, but use the very thin one not thick.
some people that have trained in eyelash extensions many years ago only see that their way is the best.
bodge or bodger its a strange word ,used a bit too often now dont you think:)
this board is used for learning after all isnt it.
xx

just out of interest, can I ask those who dont like using tape, what you use for clients that get irritation by the gel pads? Whatever pads are used, there is normaly going to be someone, (depending on how many lash clients you have) that cant tolerate them. I understand if only doing a few sets of lashes per week this may not happen. I would love to hear the alternatives to tape in these circumstances. Thanks:hug:

I'm just wondering if anyone uses the silcopads. Bit pricey but they are reusable!

I was trained to use tape first and then put the gel patch on top. I think this was because the patch can move and the tape secures the lashes down and then the patch sticks to the tape and obviously some skin. I have had it done on myself and don't find it at all uncomfortable.

Question micropore or pads.

My answer Micropore is a bodge, simple and this is what I feel

I cannot wrap people in cotton wool who may get so upset because they have never been told no if there life.... and get upset about things sooooo easy.

Many are good about blowing something up out of nothing.

I feel its bad to use this tape on the lashes, I also feel Vaseline is not good to use, even a little. Vaseline (Petroleum) does vapour through.

cyanoacrylate and vasaline are not friends, it has the possibility of not giving the bond it should.

I do NOT like q10 pads as well, I feel they are bad news and all the companies still churn them out, many times it is the q10 pad that makes the eyes sting and not the adhesive vapour.

This is why I feel the 3D fibreless are the best possible available at any cost.

I have seen (as I have said before) the stuff for over 7 years, way before the UK in the US so I have good grounding.

So to me tape and vasaline is a bodge.

Hi Su, tell me more please
Could you explain what the difference is between 3D firbreless and normal lash application. Or is it different products they use as an alternative ??

Certainly, they are a far superior quality, they do not contain anything like the others, and dont slip.

The application is the same, order the pads and see, you get two applications from 1 pad, as they spit in two.

Think about this very hard with your Vasaline technique, lets say as soon as you have finished and remove the tape, people will always blink, you cannot stop this.

Vasaline from the bottom lashes will come in contact with the new top lashes...... oil.... mmmmm not good.

Does not matter how careful you think you are, you cannot stop this.

Really, I feel one should look at their self, I see a lady on another board who clients were getting eye infections, very regularly.

I have been doing this both here in the UK and in the US for many years, I have never had this, luck cannot go on for this many years so one must be doing something right.

The Billericay bodger is someone who you may know, very well. what we have read she has been reported to the authorities.

Pads are cleaner and if you pay top dollar you get top products.

I always use under eye gel patches and so far no one had alergic reaction (I've been doing this for 2,5 years with on average 4 clients a day). If client feels irritation I always check that patch has not moved up into the eye, if it has, I pull it down and it is all good again... And I agree with SusanEvian on the Vaseline side of it... I would never use Vaseline.. All my clients return in 4-5 weeks for infills as lashes last perfectly...

As a newbie that's very interesting news that I hadn't thought about before regarding the vasaline.....
I use both tape and pads on top but not vasaline although I have thought about trying it.

And secondly where can I find these these great things you speak of lol

Hi

Could you tell me who supplies these pads? Always open to new ideas and products.

Ok sweetie, the pads are on a clear backing, they have two half moon shape once is bigger than the other, they both work fine and they are designed to be used like this.

They are in a sealed pack, and are ultra hygienic, as said above no weeping sting from the eyes, no use of a nasty roll of tape close to the eye that has been sitting on the side or in you box..... and as stated and agreed no use of blink and Vaseline

A nice clean application.
