Minx - Do You Have The Lamp?

What is the difference between the white day lamp from S2 and the black lamp from the minx website. Silly question I know, but my distributor in Israel said that the black lamp was better? I strongly doubt that, but wanted to check with you guys. I have my maxi minx just delivered from S2 and have to resist playing with it until I have my one to one with Justine on Tuesday. It looks like so much fun!!!!! I guess my poor Husband will have beautiful minxed toe nails in a few days. I already gave him a set of acrylic nails last night on the condition I soaked them right back off again. My Hubby is a star!!! lol

The Minx lamp might be cuter .. who knows its not the lamp but the bulb that is important. Really your distributor is saying silly things .. there is no BETTER. If we are talking design, then the S2 infrared lamp is far more practical for doing both toes and fingers but it really does not matter as long as the Minx get nice and warm.

This is the email I was sent by the minx distributor. I don't know if this effects minx, but In my opinion I would say that minx isn't lasting too long over there because of the heat????? maybe the minx is heating up and peeling off. A bad workman always blames his tools.

lET'S NOT GET CONFUSED RE THE LAMPS.

The infrared lamp that we use for Minx is made by the daylight company it is not a daylight bulb it is an infra red bulb which is what Minx recommend ... we have no problem with the lamps or Minx even here in Spain where it is 40º all this summer!!

Hi there,

I am in Saudi Arabia and I got my minx nails direct from Minx US but they would not sell me the Minx heat (lamp) as they explained it is wired for U.S. electrical standards only so Minx cannot ship its lamps outside the U.S. I did tell them we are dual voltage here (both 110v and 240v) in most houses but they would not ship.
They told me following "that they use 175 watt Philips clear heat light bulb for proper Minx heat. You can find a lamp that is compatible with your country’s voltage requirements and our heat light bulb specifications for proper Minx application."

Can someone confirm that you can buy these bulbs in the UK, and are these the ones you use for you are all 220-240v in the UK. Also can I have a lamp fitting shipped to Saudi arabia - I do have a PO Box in the UK so would therefore only need UK shipping costs and my PO Box company will do the rest and get it to me out here . It would not necessarily need to be a minx lamp, just a good heat lamp. I think in the region of about a 100 GBP? Would I be right? I have searched endlessly here....not much call for heat lamps in 52oC!!!

Haven't used Minx yet, but love the look of it.

This is probably a stupid question but is a infra-red lamp the same as a UV lamp?

Think I know the answer but wld be great if I didn't need to purchase another lamp?

Infrared is not the same as UV.
Infrared is a heat lamp used normaly for warming muscles before massage, helping with painful muscles and the like.

This is not complicated ladies!!! minx needs to be warmed. You can do it with an infrared bulb in ANY freakin lamp. These bulbs are available in every country. I've warmed them in the sun, with a hairdrier and even on the lid of an Aga cooker ... they just need to be warm ... how you do it is up to you. Using an infrared bulb is the most efficient way to warm the Minx but not the only way ... it also looks the most professional IMHO.
