Hi

when you say you clip the toes to get that clean finish .. Do you mean you clip the toe nails with the minx on or clip the excess minx???

I clip the toe nail once I have applied the minx it is so much easier than trying to file a toe nail

Were these on your fingernails or toenails?

Your cuticles must have been nice and tidy already.

They are on my toes <silver lightening, which I really like and will have again>. In fairness, I did do a bit of a prep on them not that long before the application, so they were probably quite easy for them. I think the idea of clipping the nails after application is a good one, especially if it means eliminating awkward filing of the minx.

you wouldnt be able to do that on fingernails though?

i thought it was important for it to 'wrap' around the edge of the nail.

Hi,

Could someone please give me a guide on how to apply the Minx?? When it is just going straight onto the nails and for when the client would like this only on the tip with acrylic or gel.

Would be so gratefull, thanks in advance xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx:hug:

I've never used Minx on enhancements, so can't help you there. Maybe a more experienced geek will come along.

thats good, have you or anyone else tried it on fingernails though?

i think that would cause problems on the fingernails.

I haven't. I think on fingernails the best way would be to file.

No I dont clip the finger nails, these I file in a north south motion as opposed to the 45 degree angle. I use a creative file, think its a kanga, lol its black !!!! I broke my minx file into a thousand pieces in the old house, it did not like the extreme cold !

Does everyone use scrubfresh or similar when applying Minx?

This is what we were shown at the Fingertips open day when I bought my kit. We were also shown to use Cuticle Away or similar but now I've discovered dry prep works well too.

I use scrubfresh when applying it, i like to know i've applied it onto a nice clean nail plate. I also use cuticle away too.

We have a Minx Troubleshooting day at The Fingertips Centre on Tuesday 23rd March, only a couple of days away.

It is free of charge to anyone wo has attended our Minx Training or purchased a kit from us, otherwise £20. All are welcome, we will be covering all the pitfalls, tips, tricks and techniques for Minx.

With regard to application on enhancements for fingers, I would ensure the enhancements did not have too much of an apex and they should be 'thin' at the free edge to avoid the Minx 'receding' a little when it has cooled.

I do not 'wrap' the Minx at the free edge, although it will do no harm if you do this. File with crystal file for real sharpness and no 'fraying' at a 90 degree angle to the fingernail.

Hope this helps:)

I wish I could come to the troubleshooting day but can't get time off my day job. Maybe next time.
