I am a self employed nail tech and recently I have been having trouble with acrylics as far of the chemicals and such. I wear a mask and have my room very ventilated but just seem to become sensitive to it . I have a pretty good clientele base and offer acrylics, gel polish and pedicures. I have thought about not doing acrylic services but keep my steady clients who religiously come to me every two weeks and they are good friend and family. My problem is I don't know how to go about doing just those clients and not offering them to anyone else. Part of me understands and I feel like it's not fair but then another part of me doesn't care because it's my health and my business and have every right to make that choice . I recently made the choice to go back to school and am going towards a new career path so I know I won't be doing nails forever. I also just don't enjoy acrylics even tho I am very good at them hah. Any advice people???? Thanks

Would they consider a different extension? Hard gel or tip and dip acrylic?

What problems are you having ?

I've thought about switching to hard gel but since I'm going to school and won't be in the nail business much longer I don't want to have to spend all the money on new products and time learning the techniques when I won't be using them for certain period of time

Just like intense migraines/dizziness and when I'm such in a confined space where I rent from it just all builds up over the day

Have you thought about investing in better ventilation and fume extraction?

If you're not planning on making it a business, or care about returning clients I would just stop with the L&P as any kind pf physical effect is not good for your health.

Could you just stop offering acrylics to new customers? Remove from your FB/price list etc and keep it in the cupboard so its not visible. If new people ask for it, tell them you just do gel polish. Tell existing customers you're phasing it out, so they don't send their mates.

I don't know how it affects you but is it not going to still affect your health until you stop altogether?
