This is the way that businesses work. It gets my goat at times with some companies, but you have to look at it from their point of view also.

Personally if I need stock, I order before I run out or I go get it myself.

There is nothing better than going and getting stock and being told of the updates and special offers coming up and my supplier is an hour and a half drive for me. :green:

If you live in manchester why not go there, they are a friendly bunch....
If its next day delivery it will be more expensive than standard post. Which I wouldnt grumble about as I sent a letter other day next day and it cost me £6.76 and that was a just a letter.

OK...go to the shop and buy it?? Take your certificates...obviously.
If you don't like it then go ELSEWHERE.
We all have choices hun x

Lol, you took the words out of my mouth Judy, I was thinking, why not go to the shop in salford if based in Manchester?!

Hi there,

We are sorry that we have to charge this amount for postage but the standard charge that the couriers charge us for next day delivery and insurance on your orders is £7.50 + vat so we are not making any money on charging you the delivery. We feel that it is necessary to use this service as it guarantees next day delivery and it also covers any loss or damage during transit.

If you only wanted to order only a small amount then you would be able to place this order over the phone with us and we can do it at a cheaper postage at £3.00 which is still recorded but this would not guarantee your next day delivery and can take up to a week, we then can also send really small amounts out to you first class but then there is nothing that we can do if there is loss or damage on its way to you. If you was to buy a small liquid however we would have to charge you the £7.50 as Royal Mail will not take liquids and it must be sent through an Interlink Courier

We also have our cash and carry in Manchester where you can purchase small amounts and we offer the free delivery on orders over £25.00 which we feel is reasonable as the majority of people placing orders spend this as a minimum.

Ashley x

i for one have been very happy with the service from nsi and have always had my order the next day if ive ordered it by a certain time the day before.
im the same as you in the sense that i dont have loads of things to buy and could sometimes struggle to make it £25 but the way i see it is that i would rather buy an extra product that i'll use for the extra than to pay the postage charge and get "nothing" for it.i dont use some of there small things like glue etc.. as i have a sallys near me so its easier for me to get things like that from there as and whe i run out but all my other products i buy from nsi and as most are from £10 upwards its not that hard to spend the £25 which some companies charge much more than this.
think of it as if you havent quite spent enough to get free postage either double up on what you have bought as you will obviously use it or use this as a chance to try different products rather than spend the money on the postage.x

I understand where Randi is coming from and what she was trying to say....

but I think Ashley from NSI gave a great reply which put it all into perspective....

and from that we can actually lay the blame, if any is needed, at the couriers/postal services door and not the company you are buying from....

Postal charges are a bugbear of mine living over here.
I have just had to pay £4.50 for a present to be delivered for a birthday in the UK (a small present )....when the person in question lives not 5 mins from the store I bought it from!.....but needs must....I just buy a cheaper present to compensate

I think maybe the thread title should have just been ''Postage Rip-off!!''
Ordering something for £4 and then paying nearly £9 for postage is rather ridiculous....but NSI can't be blamed....their hands are tied basically.....

* Just as a little pointer for those who say pop on down to the NSI place in Manchester because the poster lives in Manchester....
well Manchester is a big place....and I don't know the circumstances of Randi but if you don't drive, have young toddlers in tow....etc, it's not always easy is it?
I used to live in Manchester technically....and Salford was a fair way from me....it would have taken a lot of public transport to get there.... much more than the £9 postal delivery charges :wink2:  *

Guys, you can't expect a company to spend £7 to send out something that sells for £10 no more than you can charge .50p for a full set when it costs you £1.50 in product (let alone your time). Sure it sucks, but it is no ones fault. That is what it costs to send via courier (well, actually it doesn't cost us that much, but not a million miles off). Hell even 1 bottle of nail enamel has to go courier because it is flammable.

Trust me, it is as frustrating for your distributor as it is for you.

I'm just going to make it clear that I was not slating NSI as a company. It probably looks that way but in no way was I stating they were a bad company etc etc. No way.
I love NSI products.

I guess I should apologise. There was a lot of pressure building up on me the day I wrote this thread and it just reached boiling point.
I didn't mean to upset anyone. :o
I just had far too much to do and I thought I'd order some things quickly and then I just dropped everything and thought 'screw this'.

Ashley - Thank you for your response. Actually, I understand exactly where the NSI team are coming from. It's just that it was the wrong day for me to accept anything, even if I understood it.

I guess we all have days like that, and that's no excuse, but at least it's an explaination to everyone.

My apologies.

Take Care x

Don't worry about it...

and some good came from your thread anyway....

Ashley from NSI gave such a good explanation that anyone who does have a gripe about postage costs can now see it from the distributors point of view....and how those costs come about...

We are all just rungs on a very long ladder....

No harm done and I hope you have lots of better days ahead.....
