To update my thread, I have a few niggles I need to iron out.

I am the same size as you JL, and have the rest and stool on the lowest height. I also have the space between the them at the closest setting.

My clients chair is a high backed, height adjustable office type chair.

My client, who had the Shellac pedi didn't look that comfy, but assured me she was 'alright' It was as if the rest was still too high, making her leg look awkward, although on it's lowest setting. She is on the short side, so I got my husband to sit for me as he is tall and I wanted to test client extremes!

He felt it was a little awkward, but that was more to do with the rest being moveable and me making him point his toes downwards (something I notice you havn't done in any of your photos JL, so I know not to do that now!).

I tried to make my clients chair higher, but that is also on it's maximum setting. So I'm left with probably having to buy another chair that I can use for my clients that has more flexibility in how high a setting I can adjust it to. I can't think of anything else to make it more comfortable for them.

This looks perfect I have ordered one excited to receive it now :).

As you can see, I sit quite far forward and kind of grip the rest with my knees as it is moveable. The seat and the rest are as close together as you can get them (because I'm short) but you could move them further apart. The height of the rest is adjustable.

I have put the spa underneath so you can see where it sits. Obviously I move it before I use the lamp!

I hope this helps.

You are very kind and helpful to post these pictures.

I bought this stool when I had my first Salon and I must admit, I didn't like it and found it awkward. You would also need a nice big towel to place over their legs if they were wearing a skirt. ;)

My younger clients liked it, but the older ones found it hard to raise their leg that high... in fairness most of my clients are older, so I used to do their Pedicures on a couch, which was so much more comfortable for them and me.

Now I work from a very small room and have no room for a couch, so I had a carpenter make me a raised chair with steps and an area for me to put my two lamps down as well as all of my products. It cost me a few quid, but it was worth it... my back doesn't kill me anymore :)

I would get my husband to build something like this, as it sounds great but my room is too small to have a separate pedi chair. Mine has to be flexible enough to be a manicure chair too. :|

Thanks Sarah, but as you will see above this is an update to my thread as I have already bought the stool. I'm glad your clients like it.

This thread is great with all the info im after. Thanks nicole for posting and juicylucy the picks are fabulous.

Just one little question if you dont mind, can i ask what seat height is your client at? When reading beauty express it says normal height seat which doesnt say much.

Thanks all x x x

I am a mobile tech and I have 2 small collaspable stools, one for me to sit on and one to rest the client leg on.

Its good for doing pedi work to get the right angle, and with a little adjustment you can place their foot flat to be able to paint their toes.

My 2 were off ebay.
What did you type in to find them on eBay xx?
