Do you not think that it makes it harder for us that non professionals can join this forum?
I sometimes feel that they get to find out all our tricks and trade secrets just by peeping in????

Well i didnt like to say but now i dont have to because someone has said it for me.

Seems some are able to say and do as they see fit and others are not.

My point is, there are some things in life we have no control over, and what people buy or sell on ebay is one of them. I have no idea what you are getting at with your comment.

just had a nosey on ebay......i got the new argos book and they do gel/acrylic and lots more so bet they will sell them aswell!!!!!!!

well i cannot believe thats sallys sell that rio rubbish! why bother going to a salon when you can just visit a bloody car boot! grrr.....

TBH, I refuse to get bothered about the Argos stuff. Yes, its a hazard, but you know, I've won a fair few clients who have started out doing their own nails, and have not managed to make them look anywhere as nice as 'their friend' who has hers professionally done, so they've come to me.

One could (and I'm not saying - its just theory) have just as much a go at homelearn courses as Rio kits and Ebay, because, anyone can buy the course....and doens't actually need to pass it to be able to go and bang quite a lot of nails on the unawares public. And you can buy more product from your supplier without completing the course from the majority of them, so in effect, thats probably just as bad. I'm not a huge fan of home learn courses (and I speak educatedly - having started with one) but they are deemed slightly more acceptable as they could lead to a pro qualification.

Yet, it's a fine line of difference between acceptable and outrageous!

Bio Sculpture actually offer to purchase back any unopened unused products from you rather than see it on EBay, and will refuse to supply you if you've been identified as selling Bio Sculpture products on Ebay, but that doesn't stop it ending up there. There's tons of the stuff. I've seen a so called Bio Sculpture cuti-stone (that I can buy in Sally's for 75p) go for over £12 on Ebay!

If there's mugs that'll pay it - theres'll always be folk that'll supply it!

I purchased Popits off eBay.

I have done nails for over 20 years but even though having completed a course...have no qualifications. My so called certificate was worthless. Apparently, there are no courses that you can undertake on the Gold Coast that qualify you to purchase products from any supplier...only from the person who trained you. Sucks! And every couple of years I check this situation...and only checked about 3 months ago. There are people who will train you, but you don't get a certificate to allow you to purchase products. I would like to see a TAFE course or something start up on the Gold Coast.

I refuse to go to a nail tech because when I do my own nails they don't fall off and have minimal lifting (if any). I went to a nail tech last March and I had 2 pop off the same day...and had heaps of lifting. This nail tech was one of the most well known and recommended nail techs on the Gold Coast.

Anyway, back to Popits. I purchased the Edge and other freeform items, and they were OK. I could work with them, but they weren't as successful as the Popits and no thumb sizes to fit. I have had a 100% success rate with the Popits and a great thumb size - lol.

My eyesight has deteriorated the last couple of years, and Popits make it easier for me to do my enhancements.

I do both gel nails and L&P. I use Illume L&P and I use IBD gel products.

I know I am going to cop some flack here...so bring it on.

Tambay, after reading your post I think you're missing out on a fabulous opportunity to make a damn good living in your area if the tech with the fab rep that you went to can't do nails that last as well as you can.

It would be in your best interest (business wise) to get yourself on a course, regardless of where it is, and start offering your enhancements to Joanna Public.

I would love, love, love to get into a course (and I have tried repeatedly)...but it has to be somewhere on the Gold Coast. I am a mother of 4 (including a newborn baby and a moderately autistic daughter). Makes it a bit hard.
